New to Celebrity - Bathroom Amenities

Recommended Posts

Sailing on Silhouette balcony cabin and wondering if I need to pack shampoo/conditioner and body wash?  We are flying and if I can eliminate the extra weight that would be fantastic.  If they are provided are they individual bottles or a dispenser?

We were on Reflection a couple of weeks ago and it was all provided in individual bottles.  Clearly some people prefer the products that they, their hair and their body are used to but we were quite happy.  A lot of people comment on these boards that the shampoo does not lather very much – let me assure you that shampoo does not need to lather to be efficient. The only gripe I have is with the high volume of single use plastics - surely Celebrity should be looking to use refillable dispensers. A sailing on another cruise line had White Company toiletries in large pump bottles and dispensers. Much more environmentally friendly.

Yup, the products do fine. As to the single use plastics, I believe the room stewards take the plastic holders out and refill them and for me, none of them were single use......my 5 hairs on top of my head did just fine with the shampoo 3 or 5 time use!

Thanks for the quick responses 🙂

I will leave my bottles at home and have more weight allowance for items I have bought on my trip.

Samll bottle of toiletries are provided but we never use those as we prefer to bring our own name brands. If you do not like what the ship provides, the ship's gift shop will have a small selection of brand name toiletries for sale. They are not always displayed out in the open but, if you ask the sales clerk, they will show you the drawer full of items available for purchase. Also, the ports always have some shops that sell toiletries.

Also you can also stop before boarding at a pharmacy and buy what you need or shop in a port stop if the ship's toiletries are not to your satisfaction.  Lots of options.

I found that I did not like the scent of the shampoo and body wash on our two previous Celebrity cruises.  Normally I make do with what is provided, but I now will take my own.
