Where do cruises dock in Punta Arenas

Where do cruise ships (Princess) dock at Punta Arenas - do they dock directly or use tenders and how far is it to main centre, is it walkeable?. I am reading conflicting info on various different possibilities.

In December 2016 the Crown Princess used the dock 'downtown'.  A smaller Seabourn ship was also in port and they were relegated to a dock quite a ways out of town.

Oceania docked right by the city. We got off the ship, walked around the main area of the town.  There was also a square that had great vendors....anc thick ropes to hold onto in case of heavy wind. On our way back we ate at Sotito's on O'Higgins Street......great food.   Went to a moneychanger.

In March 2018 on Emerald Princess we moored and had to tender to the dock. The tender ride was about ten to fifteen minutes. It was then an easy, less than ten minute walk to the main square, Plaza de Armas Munoz Gamero. There are shops, the cathedral and museums around the square. It was an easy fifteen minute walk from the square to the city cemetery and ten minutes from the square to walk up to the lookout, Mirador Cerro de La Cruz.

We were there in December 2018 and the downtown area was about a 15 minute cab ride . The cabs were at the end of the pier .

Q: So it depends on the SIZE of the cruiseship as to where it docks or if passengers Tender in??

We will be there on 10 Jan on Celebrity Eclipse and out itinerary says Tender.

I guess we'll be tendering also on Mar 10 (Eclipse).  Thanks for posting htis.
