Tymless1 Posted January 14, 2020 #1402 Share Posted January 14, 2020 Great review! Thank you for doing this. We will be on the Encore in March of 2021.
HockeyMomWI Posted January 17, 2020 #1403 Share Posted January 17, 2020 Really enjoyed reading your review! We will be on the Encore in March 2020. My husband thought your blue collared shirt was impressive, so I ordered it for him.

Luvmypups Posted January 21, 2020 #1405 Share Posted January 21, 2020 Great review Sid, though I was way late to the party!!! I enjoy your reviews, food p0rn & drink pics...and your perspective. prbffd28 Posted January 29, 2020 #1406 Share Posted January 29, 2020 Hey Sid, looking for your recommendations since you are familiar with San Juan. We leave 2/9 on Encore and will be in SJ on Tuesday 530-1130, my fiance' isn't too keen on walking the streets at night, not comfortable out of her element, so wondering if you have a recommendation for good drinks, rooftop bar/resturant to get the sites, near the pier? I hope we can do some exploring nearby before it gets dark but can expect to stay close to the ship after dark. Thanks much for any insight!!

We walked up and down almost every street in the city and never felt unsafe... Punto de Vista is only about five or six blocks inland from the cruise pier. Great food and drinks and they're usually on a wait. There are plenty of shops around close to the pier if you don't want to venture out that far. coastcat Posted January 30, 2020 #1409 Share Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) I revisited this thread and enjoyed your narrative all over again... and damned if I didn’t find myself on the NCL site promptly thereafter. I’m now booked on the 5-day Labor Day cruise on Encore to Bermuda, in a Studio, and have every intention of snagging a Vibe pass. This is your fault! mimi7ccr Posted March 8, 2020 #1411 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Hey Sid== Now I've read all the way through your Horizon Review and the Encore Review. I'm about to start on some of your older ones. I absolutely love your writing style. You remind me so much of my son, who also lives in Georgia, but few years older than you. With the camera in front of your face all the time, I thought it was him!! He's a hard-working single dad with girls about the age of your Ashlee. He also loves his shirts, buzz hair cut, same body style, same style in home decor even. OMG!! I'm almost half way through the Ay Tee El thread and love it. That is, if the entire cruise industry hasn't collapsed from the corona virus hysteria...
Rare sid_9169 Posted March 21, 2020 Author #1413 Share Posted March 21, 2020 Since my Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady was cancelled for May, I've re-booked for late September on a back to back... My 200% credit was enough to cover 2 cruises, and I have over $1,000 in OBC (AKA: Drinking Money!) Fingers crossed for a recovery by then. Join me over on the Virgin Voyages board then!...

I decided to look a whole year further out, and I'm now booked on another back to back on the Scarlet Lady June 2nd-6th 2021, and June 6th-11th 2021... God willing, the cruise actually happens this time...

Rare sid_9169 Posted August 11, 2020 Author #1419 Share Posted August 11, 2020 I'm as angry as everyone else about the "pause in operations" of the cruise lines... I'm just sitting here trying to recapture that feeling of being out at sea, while I sit here at home... You can bet, that as soon as they allow sailings again, then I'll be among the first to jump on board. Corona or not, I just want to cruise again.........
Cruising Lynne Posted August 12, 2020 #1420 Share Posted August 12, 2020 Me too. I am actually considering trying an all inclusive resort. An overnight trip to a nearby casino helped me a little, but nothing beats a cruise for me. The casino even gave us a free room. Our temperatures were taken as we walked in, we had to wear masks, and only every other slot machine was open. There were wipes everywhere to clean the machines with. I promise it was more fun than it sounds! I made up for lost time with the free drinks, and was happy they were still available. What I hate is people who suggest the cruise industry is dead. Things will start to return to normal eventually. I will cruise ASAP, but am still waiting a little longer to book anything. I have no problem with wearing a mask on a ship.

Rare sid_9169 Posted November 22, 2020 Author #1422 Share Posted November 22, 2020 I can't believe it's been almost an entire year now since my last cruise... It was exactly a year ago this week, that I embarked on what turned out to be my "last cruise to date"... If I would have had any idea the situation would've turned to this, I would have tried to sneak another one in before the "stuff hit the fan"... I'm hoping and praying that we are all able to cruise again sooner than later, but we'll see... Until then, I'm trying to re-live some of my old memories of the "good 'ol days"...

Rare debenson0723 Posted November 22, 2020 #1424 Share Posted November 22, 2020 One year ago today I got off the Getaway in New Orleans. It turned out to be my 2nd to last cruise, as I did manage to get on the Encore the last week of February this year. Had two more booked...Epic in the Med and Escape to Bermuda (see the pattern...all 3 ships started with E) but of course, those didn't happen. Right now I am not planning anything but hope to be on one of the first Leonardo class sailings in 2022...either a Med or maybe the TA. I am thankful for the times I did get to travel and will never take it for granted again!
