Beach close to port?

DH and I are doing the Original Jose Cuervo Tequila Tasting and lunch off the Disney Fantasy in January. We will have a few hours after the tour and before all-aboard, and I would love to spend and hour or two on a beach. Is there a free or cheap beach close to the port where we can go for a short time? Any advise from those experienced with this port would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Money Bar is about a $10-12 taxi ride from the piers (3 cruise ship piers on Cozumel). No admission fee, great facilities, lockers, and good food, drinks and service. Check out their web site and the trip advisor reviews.

Thanks so much for this advice, it's exactly what we are looking for.  Is the taxi a quick ride?

Thanks!

Edited to add, just checked Google maps, looks like it's about 3km from the cruise ship terminal. Do you know if this is a walkable road?

There are a few things to consider here.

Disney most likely docks at Punta Langosta about 5 miles from Money Bar. Tequila tasting is at Discover Mexico, about 1 mile away from Money Bar. It is walkable, if you like walking, side walk until turn off to old highway, and then you need care walking at side of  road.

Cruise excursions in Cozumel usually include taxi fare in ticket price. You should consider checking prices on Cozumel park website and compare independent pricing, for parks and combos since you will require extra taxi back from Money Bar.

We enjoy facilities at Money Bar but just FYI, Money Bar doesn't have a beach only a sandy man-made area. You will get a similar man- made beach area with loungers at No Name Bar at Hotel Barracuda within walking distance of Punta Langosta - worth considering if you take the included taxis from cruise line.

No Name Bar is very popular with crew. It doesn’t look much from outside and wont suit everyone, but we have enjoyed a couple of hours there several time and is convenient for downtown.

It depends how “sandy” a beach you want. You will need to go further for a sandy beach.
