That's very helpful.

Our next cruise will be interesting.  I had weight loss surgery a week ago today.  Losing about a pound a day.  Typical meal is about a 1/4 cup but really not hungry.  You said the W/J was especially good on Harmony.  Is it better that the other ships?  That might work better  since I'm suppose to be eating multiple small amounts.

You can also eat in Sorrento's.  And most of the day, from morning to late at night,  Next to guest services, I forgot the name, is a coffee bar that serves small plates all day included in your fare.

Congrads on your surgery!  My nephew is a bariatric surgeon  in Georgia, and tells me about how well his patients do after surgery.  If they were diabetic, they are cured and if they had hypertension also cured when their weight comes down.    I am sure you will do great also.

Read this. It indicates reservations are required for dinner but doesn’t say one must do it ahead of time.  It also says that (Sky)  we are offered exclusive amenities not available to other guests onboard.

Yes. Doesn’t say ahead of time. They boarded, went to SL/CK, there before 12. Couldn’t get a reservation for ANYTIME for dinner in CK all week.

if they desire to cruise on Royal again, they know better for next time. They, like us, haven’t been back (yes we booked Allure out of Barcelona). Hoping that will be different.

They do custom stir fry several nights. Even if its pasta, i can make it into stir fry.

Sky suites on Celebrity are really equivalent to a grand suite on Royal- a Jr. suite on royal, really doesn't get many perks- If you have a grand suite, or a sky suite, you have access to the suite lounge, deck, restaurants, reserved show seats and many other amenities.  The Jr. suite, while a great size on Royal, is really a large balcony cabin (great closet) with a few perks.  It also typically costs much less then a sky suite.  If you consider that on Celebrity, you get 4 perks with a sky suite, plus the perks mentioned above,  while it might cost more it is a better deal.

That is all true right now as far as perks are concerned but a typical Celebrity Sky Suite has only 11 sq. ft. more space than a typical Royal junior suite.  On the other hand, a Royal Grand Suite has much space than a Celebrity Sky Suite.  Therefore, there is no reason why it should stay true.  On the Oasis, there are 86 287 sq. ft. Junior Suites and 90 rooms that are Grand Suites or better.  That adds up to 176 rooms or 6.29% of the total rooms.  By comparison, on the Celebrity Edge, there are 146 298 sq. ft. Sky Suites and 30 rooms that are Celebrity Suites or better.  That sums to 176 rooms (what a coincidence) but those represent 12.00% of the total rooms.  Nevertheless, Celebrity is able to provide all of the perks you described to the occupants of all 176 of those suites and there is no overcrowding issue.  There is no reason why Royal cannot do the same and a very strong economic reason why they should, since it would free them to increase the prices of the junior suites.

Isn’t it true that their “Pinnacle equivalents “, don’t have access to their Suites Lounge and Restaurant?

Certainly as far as the restaurant is concerned but, as I said in a previous post, Royal Caribbean has a long history of taking away C&A perks.

Celebrity "Pinnacle Equivalents" are Captains Club Zenith Members but it takes 3000 Captains Club points to be a Zenith.  It is extremely difficult to get that many points without getting the extra points that are awarded for cruising in a suite so a large percentage of the Zenith members would get suite perks even if they were not Zeniths.  Zenith members who are not cruising in suites can still access Celebrity suite lounges but not their suite restaurants.

The lounge for suites is called Michael's Club on M&S class ships. On the E class ships the lounge is called the Retreat. The two lounges are open all CC Zenith members and those staying in suites. The dedicated restaurant for those only staying in suites is called Luminae.

Just off the Allure yesterday. Last week there were 77 Pinnacles on our sailing. The Pinnacles could only reserve 3 nights at the Coastal Kitchen for dinner.

We ate at 6:30 PM each evening. It was only busy early 2 of the 7 evenings.

So were there both Diamond and Concierge Lounges and Diamond and above could access both? seems redundant

Diamonds were kicked out of the Concierge Lounges before Royal Caribbean started opening Diamond Lounges so they could never access both.  However, for about ten years, Diamond Plus members were able to access both.  Today, the only people who can access two lounges are Pinnacles (regardless of whether they are in a suite) and Diamond or Diamond Plus members who are in Grand Suite or better accommodations.

Did they restrict how many nights JS cruisers were allowed to reserve?

Even with no Pins, its impossible for everyone to get 630😉

That is our usual time (6:30) and have always received it with usually no wait...though we enjoy waiting at the bar for them to retrieve us.  😉

Tried the "march/parade"?....at 5 pm this last time.  Ended up working pretty well, since we wanted to see the early shows.

Officially suites are first since they are the ones who can book 5+ days in advance.

Savvy Pins can get reservations 1 day early

But lets face it, there isn't enough capacity in there for all the full suite passengers to eat there every single night, and there are limited prime slots

I can't remember, but I know you mentioned President's cruise had alternative dinner choice for Pinnies at Chops was it?

Just got off the Anthem on a B2B. Was in a Junior Suite for the first sailing and ate in the Coastal  Kitchen half of the nights. We had a 5 night dinner pkg so only went when we weren't enjoying Specialty Dining. The only change I noticed was that Pinnacles were not allowed to bring guest due to the large amount of Pinnacles on board.

No.  When the Diamonds were kicked out of the CL years ago, there was no such thing as a DL.  To reduce the howling...RCI came up with the "Diamond event" until they could install the new keyed entry DLs.

We enjoyed the Diamond Event (just beer/wine/bubbly with peanut mix bar snacks).  Especially on Freedom, where it was held nightly in the forward lounge.  Really good times, and still in contact with friends we met at those.  🙂

You can keep that to the side. That's the beauty of a custom live cooking setup😁

Currently on little Vision floating around here in the South Carib.  WJ has had permanent set up live station every night.  Pasta is indeed very good, plus the Mongolian stir fry.  Same as you, I do the chicken and veggies...yum!

Kicked out of the CL for the next two weeks here on Vision as well (traveling in our favorite choice corner aft JS with at huge wrap balcony).  The DL is very, very tiny on this ship, so we don't use it...except for early morning coffee.  Two machines in there!!  🙂  We simply enjoy our glass of wine/beer on the balcony before dinner.
