Quest's future after she's removed from the Antarctica itineraries??

Curious what's in Quest's future once Venture takes over Antarctica?  Wonder if she'll just do South America during that time of year or will they deploy her elsewhere?  Has anyone heard anything?

Just disembarked the Quest last Thursday.  No one really knows but one speculation from a fairly high officer suggested since Venture will only go Ushuaia R/T that the Quest might continue to offer the current itineraries from those who want more than just a 10 day expedition sailing.  But that is only a guess.  Lots of unknowns still about the Venture.  Had a discussion w/ Iggy about some things, including the submarine and he basically said "We don't know yet".

That would be AWESOME if they continue to offer the full itinerary on Quest, especially if they offer South Georgia Islands with it on occasion.  And while the submarine is intriguing, there's no way you'd get me in one (claustrophobic) and for the price of the Venture cruises, well ………..  

 

Glad to hear Iggy is still heading things up.  The Expedition Team really enhances the experience.

Does the Quest comply with the updated Polar Code?  If not, when does the current certification expire?

 

It would seem that her itineraries depend on how far north and south she is allows to sail.

Silversea currently has two ships going to Antarctica and Ponant has three.  I think the Quest will continue alongside the Venture.  `the Quest is currently RIGHT NOW in Ushuaia with the Silversea Explorer.  Pity no one seems to be blogging . . .
