Smoking Areas on Grandeur

We are looking to book a balcony cabin on the Grandeur, can anyone tell me where the smoking areas are located?  I'm looking to book a balcony cabin and I want to be awat from the smoking areas.

Smoking on deck 5 side opposite port side I forget is it sternside.  Then on lido /pool deck.

Do you mean deck 5 port side?

It is Deck 5 (Promenade) and Deck 9 (Pool deck), typically Port side.  (left side facing forward).

 

Not sure where sternside is. 😉

That would be my guess as well....

Ok, so I'm still a little confused about the location of the smoking area on Deck 5.  Leaveit says Port side and Sunshine says Starboard (or opposite port side).  Can anyone break the tie?

I was on grandeur last month and smoking was starboard side on deck 5 at that time.

It can vary, but in our experience on her it was port side.

Info from another thread indicates that you may currently be on the Grandeur, can you let me know the current location of the smoking areas?

just off Grandeur on a b2b two weeks ago, smoking areas:

Deck 9 pool deck PORTSIDE

Deck 5 PORTSIDE

Casino (smoking areas marked with signage)

Yes, a Grandeur Compass... you can google it... please note the smoking areas are subject to change.  If you're that sensitive to smoke then you shouldn't book near any potential smoking area.

It use to be on the Starboard side forever until some genius figured out that the air intakes for the ventilation system were also on that side.  That's, as I understand it, is when they switched the smoking to the Port side.

That must have been some time ago as 5 years ago when we last cruised on her it was port side.  In fact, with only one or two exceptions, every RCI ship we've sailed has been port side.

Yeah probably about 5 or 6 years ago.  I'd have to drag out some old pictures to pin it down.  We had "our" spot at a table in the shade with a operating window on the port side of the pool deck where friends could always find us.

Thanks.  I'm trying to book a balcony cabin on the non-smoking side of the promenade deck.   It sounds like the starboard side is my best chance for avoiding second-hand smoke.

We have been on 3 cruise on Granduer in the past 3 years.

 

EVERY time, smoking has been PORT side, Deck 5 and 9 (pool).

 

My SO is a smoker, so I am SURE of where the smoking areas are. 😄
