Apex deck plan/venue changes

I was discussing this in the Apex dining thread but felt it deserves it own thread.

While Apex will be a near carbon-copy of Edge there are a few minor differences I have noticed.  Deck 3 Grand Plaza Cafe has been eliminated in favor of expanded seating for the Martini Bar, and the iLounge replaces the shore excursions area opposite Guest Relations.  On Deck 4 the Shore excursions desk replaces the Photo Gallery and the Photo Gallery moves into the area previously occupied by the iLounge.  Also on Deck 4 Craft Social replaces the Casino Bar.  On Deck 5 The Fine Cut Steakhouse and BLU both appear to have slight layout changes, and BLU might have a few more tables.  And finally Deck 15 sees a rearrangement of the Motion Studios in the Fitness Center.

If anyone has noticed any other differences please post them.  These are the only ones I have seen thus far.

Great thread.. thanks for starting it....let's keep it going.

In Finecut, we'll hope to get one of the tables for 2 away from the rail...

Addition of Craft Social seems  like a very good idea..do they serve lite bites`p?.

Glad the Cafe Bistro is still there,...

Hope they can do more sound modulation in Grand Plaza Martini Bar areas,,.

We may  have some slight adjustment confusion on APEX initially,  but it  should be fairly easy  to adapt.

Thank you AtlantaCruiser72.  Good homework!  I am wondering if the former Casino Bar now called Craft Social will still be like a casino bar anyway?  I think on EDGE it had video poker screens integrated at the bar if I remember correctly.  Or will it be like the Craft Social beer bar introduced recently on Equinox?

  • Craft Social (formerly Gastrobar), a casual spot featuring more than 40 craft beers, wine and cocktails on tap, comfort food favorites, flat-screen TVs and leather seating

The deck plan shows it completely closed off from the casino, with access only from the Grand Plaza.  I would expect it to match the above description and not have any sort of gambling.

Deck 6: Cabins 6137, 6137, 6138 and 6139, changed class. E4 on Edge, C3 on Apex.

Also cabins 6174, 6175, 6210, 6211, 6224, 6225, 6226 and 6227 changed class.

Deck 6 Eden, starboard side: missing chairs on Apex at the rightmost edge and more missing to the right of the word "Eden"

Deck 14: The Barber's area has two chairs(?) on Edge and none on Apex. To the stern of the adjacent wall has something (desk, and chairs perhaps) on Edge but empty on Apex, and an adjacent circular thing (perhaps a desk) has moved a little.

Solarium: One hot tub on Edge, two in a different location on Apex. The Apex appears to have an extra wall around the entire Solarium.

Deck 15: Extra corridor wall near 15100 and 15102 on Apex.

There are actually several differences in the Solarium area.

Area in left diagram in front of barber shop has seating ...waiting area for spa services,  etc

On  right diagram, not sure why spa check in desk is circled red?

Is the missing EDEN area possibly the kitchen?  or maybe the little plateau area where they had a garden sculptural display?  Won't know til there are photos or folks sailing  on APEX...we cruise on her  in Nov 2020.

The item you describe as the "spa check in desk" is highlighted because its position differs, a little, between the two ships. See the dashed line that passes very close to it.

I wrote two posts. The second had two images that appear very close together, I could not see any way of moving them further apart on this forum. Perhaps I should have arranged for bigger margins on the images - now I know for the next time. The first post has some words about the images, their left hand sides are Edge and the right are Apex.

Uh o...Hard to tell for sure but looks like they may have eliminated the unisex restroom for one in the gym area of deck 15. It is a hassle to walk down to deck 14 to use restroom while working out which we had to do occasionally on Edge when single restroom was occupied. Appears that on Apex we will have to deal with this schlep everytime nature calls🙄

I think you are correct that the missing area in Eden is that garden sculptural display.

great stuff I wonder if they will do something about the noise at fine cut?

I have heard rumors here about maybe some glass partitions installed at the rail?  We will see.  We had a rail table and after a few minutes we asked to be moved to an inner table.

Does anyone recall the artist or name of that display?

Someone on another thread said it was the triffids.,ha ha.

Could not find the info in the  gen EDGE art book but I will look in the one we were given on the Art and Design tour...Just curious.
