Liberty of the Seas BAR CRAWL Plan

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

I am planning a bar crawl on Liberty in February and had a few venue operating hours/etc questions. Here is the plan in it's current draft phase (it's essentially a top to bottom crawl):

2:30pm – Olive or Twist (Deck 14 Midship)

                        2:55pm – Sky Bar (Deck 12 Midship)

                        3:20pm – Solarium Bar (Deck 11 Forward)

                        3:40pm – Pool Bar (Deck 11 Midship)

                        3:55pm – Squeeze (Deck 11 Midship)

                        4:10pm – Plaza Bar (Deck 11 Aft)

                        4:35pm – R Bar (Deck 5 Midship)

                        4:55pm – Vintages (Deck 5 Midship)

                        5:15pm – Hoof & Claw Pub (Deck 5 Midship)

                        5:35pm – Schooner Bar (Deck 4 Midship)

                        6:00pm – Casino Bar (Deck 4 Midship)

                        6:15pm – Boleros (Deck 4 Midship)

6:40pm – On Air Club (Deck 3 Midship)

Anyone see any operating hour conflicts for a typical sea day? Also does ON AIR have a bar and is it open ONLY if there's karaoke happening in there? Should we include Connoisseur Club? Star Lounge? Any other fun thoughts? 😄

Cheers!!!

Been there, done that. So two of things I would suggest. SIAP.

1. I'm not sure of how many plan to attend the crawl but 15 min is not enough time to get drinks for all.

2. Contact the Bar Manager when you arrive on the ship. Give her/him this schedule. This is important as the bars in most cases will not be able to handle a crowd of 30-40 peeps walking in at one time. They'll move bartenders w/ the crawl if planned.

Have a great time. They are very fun.

We'll be AT MOST 25 guys, and not all will be drinking/joining in at all stops. I will adjust so that the one shortest stop is 20 min instead of 15, most will be 25.

thanks!!

Can't disagree with that....but your CC avatar looks like you got cut off at Squeeze!!!!

Sorry.  Couldn't help it.  🤣🤣

Keep on posting.  They're ALL good!

As for me: whether vel non we get a crawl underway on our voyage in Early January 2020, I plan to enjoy on the balcony of my big ol' suite!  🥃

Liberty of the Seas Bar Crawl.docx

Sooooo...... I may have had a lot of free time one day in the office before our cruise on the Liberty this Summer. I then created the attached bar crawl, which we never got around to actually doing. It seems like we liked Boleros and Olive or Twist, and we camped out there. However, this may be useful as a map of which bars are where. Also, I have all of the bar menus from the Liberty to assist you in deciding what sounds delicious. Personal hint... they have Four Roses Single Barrel at the English pub, and the drink package covered it.

Well, WOW.  Thanks for joining this thread.

I read all of your reviews from earlier this summer and thoroughly enjoyed them, especially the links to the MDR Menus, Cruise Compasses, and the Bar Menus.  I provided those to our Roll Call for Liberty for the voyage beginning on 12 Jan 2020 as we are planning an “abbreviated” bar crawl.

But I would like now to confirm whether I accurately synopsized your Bar Menu comments or unintentionally overreached.  Many of us are again looking forward to enjoying the Connoisseur Club on Liberty with cigars and libations and I thought you had indicated it would have been one of your top choices as a bar but for the limited selection menu.  Is that correct?

Thank you!

On air definitely has a bar, and I think it has hours outside of Karaoke, though I don't frequent it except to watch an occasional bit of questionable singing.

Maybe we'll see ya'll crawling from bar to bar, as we are on that sailing.

Sorry about that! Sometimes I forget what I have already said.

Yes, I loved the Connoisseur Club. However, Royal is clearly not paying as much attention to it as they did when I boarded the Navigator in 2015. It is a lovely place to drink and smoke, but there weren't a lot of great alcohol choices. The service also seemed inattentive on this trip.

Hmmm....

RonDon and I will work on that come January!!!

🤣

Again, even though we’ve sailed about 20 times in Royal and 9 or 10 of those out of Galveston, I genuinely appreciated your excellent and detailed review of Liberty and actually all of your group’s reports.

However, it appears that the bar choices are going to expand significantly out of Galveston even as we lose the last Connoisseur Club. Royal’s supposed to announce the new terminal later this week and maybe Allure by 2021. Vamos a ver.

For anyone planning something similar, this ended up being what we went with...

2:15 pm      Olive or Twist (Deck 14 Midship)

2:40 pm      Sky Bar (Deck 12 Midship)
3:05 pm      Plaza Bar + Snacks at The Windjammer (Deck 11 Aft)
3:35 pm      Squeeze (Deck 11 Midship)
3:50 pm      Pool Bar (Deck 11 Midship)
4:10 pm      Solarium Bar (Deck 11 Forward)
4:30 pm      Hoof & Claw Pub (Deck 5 Midship)
4:55 pm      Vintages (Deck 5 Midship)
5:15 pm      R Bar (Deck 5 Midship)
5:40 pm      Boleros (Deck 4 Midship)
6:00 pm      Casino Bar (Deck 4 Midship)
6:20 pm      Schooner Bar (Deck 4 Midship)
6:45 pm      On Air Club (Deck 3 Midship)

The timing worked out perfectly. Folks came and went at their leisure and only the most bold of us went all the way from start to finish!

I originally has a slightly more logical/efficient walking path, but had to re-organize to make sure the Windjammer would be open for some snacks at our Plaza Bar stop. I later found out this change was unnecessary, FYI.

Cheers to all!

If I saw this sooner I would have told you that ON AIR does have a bar because I was commiserating with a bartender who has to work there and she told me about some truly awful singing she is forced to endure. Did you find out if it is only open during Karaoke hours?

I believe it was open for us and there was no karaoke going on. ON AIR was the only bar I didn't make it to as I U-Turned after Schooner and went back to the casino to donate some money to Royal  XD

I'm booked on the wrong trip, I would join you if I could sounds right up my street. We used to do something similar in a local street in Swansea South Wales called the Mumbles Mile 12 pubs in 3 hours and we had to drink a pint in each.
