kitty2264 Posted December 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2019 We just got off the CB. There are no USB ports in the room. There are a couple AC receptacles one in the bathroom and one on the desk by the hairdryer. Depending on you room, you may be able to reach the ac port located behind the TV. We were able to plug a USB charger hub in there.
satxdiver Posted December 9, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2019 These pictures were taken last month on the Star but the Caribbean is the same layout. TV is mounted to the wall and not accessible on all cabins except possibly suits. Over desk Bathroom
sailaway2joy Posted December 10, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2019 We were on the Sapphire Princess in November. They installed new bedside table lamps that had USB ports built in. Hopefully they will go fleet wide soon.
satxdiver Posted December 10, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2019 I bring a Y cable so that I can plug in both my clock radio and USB chsrger into the single outlet. I have the USB Charger RAVPower 60W 12A 6-Port Desktop USB Charging Station that I purchased from Amazon to charge the many battery devices I have on the ship. It works great. I usually try to plug a night light in there, but even if the outlet works for that, it turns off when the room's light is turned off at the switch. I'm guessing that might be an electric razor above? Doug

Ah HA! The mystery is solved. So many thing will not work plugged into that outlet, and of course that head outlet is only "hot" when the light is turned on anyway. But anywhere we can find a plug that's hot, even if only sometime, is welcome for most of us. Some of us, like myself and probably you too, have cruised enough to be familiar with the derth of electrical plugs, but new cruisers might not be. satxdiver Posted December 10, 2019 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2019 The bathroom plug has only 2 prongs not 3 and is rated at only a few amps making it useful only for electric toothbrush chargers and electric razors. It will not support a hair dryer or other higher current devices.
