never been to st kitts -- looking for a beach for a few hours with bathroom facilities   ( no porta potties )

has anyone been to both beaches and can tell me the difference.

also  do you need to specify a time with taxi driver for return or can we wing it and just leave when ready at either of these beaches.  ( meaning there are plenty of taxis or one can be called with no issue)

thanks

You should not have an issue finding a ride back to the port area from either beach. There are bathroom facilities available at both beaches. South Friars has the up-scale Carambola Beach Club at one end of the beach and at the other end is Shipwreck.

Cockleshell Bay has Reggae Beach Bar-Grill at one end and Spice Mill at the other. There are other beach bar/restaurants between the main ones also. The taxis will usually leave from the ones I have listed. You could agree on a time to be picked up or have the larger establishment call a tax for you.

thanks -- any differences between the 2 beaches  that would make you pick one over the other ?    this is port stop # 2  out of 5 for our cruise in march.

Carambola Beach Club - Destination for T'erds - Book beds and umberella in advance on line $30.00 - Has good toilet facilities but can be a long Q, because of the high numbers.

Shipwreck - Beds are free to patrons taking food and drinks - Dubious toilet facilities.

Cockershall, Spice and Reggie are also T'erds destination,  can rent beds without having to book in advance or purchase food and drinks.

Best to take the Marriott and follow the TTE protocol.

Or if a genteel cruiser wanting a nice beach experience for the day, then Sunshine's on Nevis, but beware of the killer bees.
