Vista Suite - any perks?

You get a balcony.  And a "telephone concierge".  Also, if you book a suite, you get double "sailing days" credit towards your Mariner level (this doesn't apply if you take an upsell to a suite, though)

The balcony is the best part of that short list.  The telephone concierge is the Front Desk....

The Vista Suite does not qualify for the double sailing days. Only cabins with "S" as first letter in their codes.

Unless there's been a recent change that I have missed, the Vistas on the Volendam qualify.  They did on the old Statendam, and the old Ryndam, and the Zaandam.

We’ve been in a Vista suite on Koningsdam and it did qualify for double days.  We compared the cabin to our sons’ regular balcony and didn’t see much difference except we got the double days and they didn’t.

I haven't been on the new big ones so thank you for that info 🙂  My lack of knowledge about the big ones is why I referred only to my knowledge of the smaller ships.

On the Volendam, on all the S- and R-class ships, the Vista Suite cabins earn double days credit if a published fare is paid.

Huh, we sailed on the Zaandam in a Verandah/Vista "suite" in 2014 and did not get double points. Oh! @RuthC-- you figured it out, we took an upsell! That had slipped my mind...

I stand humbly corrected!

The new ships have both Verandah and Vista Suite, and the latter is larger. The R-class have only Vista Suites, and the one we had was plenty big.

I really don't understand why HAL doesn't extend the early embarkation perk to all varieties of suites. We were in a Signature Suite on Eurodam a few years ago and couldn't believe that we had to wait to board with everyone else.

There are so many early embarkers now I wonder if they could handle even more.  Neptunes/Pinnacle suites, handicap, 4 and 5 star, and now Club Orange.  At some airports the room for them is not that large.
