darth frosty Posted December 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2019 I can see my stateroom for feb's panama canal cruise. I hope this won't cause a delay I know that's selfish, cause obviously someones cruise will be affected due to repairs.

ABQrobin Posted December 20, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 20, 2019 I have been hearing about the windy conditions in Cozumel all week... Harbor master has closed to all water/scuba/snorkeling activities. Looks like it was too windy for that maneuver.

Coming from a Navy background where one of my ships had similar damage, I can say with certainty that this will take many weeks, if not a couple of months to repair. 3

Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted December 20, 2019 #12 Share Posted December 20, 2019 Would a Harbor pilot have been in control of the ship?

My thoughts too.... hopefully no one back there when it happened. I would guess the whole ship felt it though, so we'll be hearing about multiple falls and injuries onboard for sure.

Harbour Pilots only give suggestions in navigation to the Captain, who is at all times responsible for the movement and safety of the ship, her crew and passengers. The Captain is free to accept or ignore anything the Pilot says. 3
Shih-tzu Posted December 20, 2019 #20 Share Posted December 20, 2019 Oh my!!! And just before one of the busiest cruising weeks where there probably isn't a lot of room for people to re-book on another ship :-( I hope everyone is OK but looks like dining room and probably there were a few folks there having a late breakfast. Has me re-thinking my cabin choice for my February cruise - I had picked an OV just below the dining room. Please keep us updated.

lostsoulcruiser Posted December 20, 2019 #22 Share Posted December 20, 2019 Watching that video (thanks BNBR for the video) it appears there is an object near the front of the Legend. Does anyone know what this is? A tug perhaps?
bobbyandali Posted December 20, 2019 #23 Share Posted December 20, 2019 I'm trying to figure out where Glory was going. Aren't the ships at that pier side by side, not front to back? Why was he making that maneuver?

Glory was attempting to dock on the other side of the pier and got swept by the wind.

I can't tell what type of boat from this clip but is moving too swiftly for a tug. Edited December 20, 2019 by sanmarcosman
