Emerald/Diamond Balcony discount...

We're currently Emerald members, with 5 more nights to make Diamond.

Have one 5-night cruise coming up in 2 months, which should make us Diamond afterwards.

In process of booking another 7-night cruise 10 months from now, traveling with a group of friends, in a reserved block of 10 cabins together.

The current Balcony discount for Emerald is $125,  & $225 for Diamond.

Will Royal allow us to get the Diamond discount now, with the 5-night booked & final payment done already, so we can go ahead & reserve our cabin with the group, or do they'll require us to wait until after the 5-night cruise is completed in 2 months?

We have already put deposit down for an interior cabin across hallway from group cabins, since it's $560 cheaper now, & upgrade to balcony later with the Diamond discount.

Or go ahead & book the Balcony cabin we want now with Emerald discount & easy to apply Diamond discount in 2 months?

Any better suggestions for us...?

I dont think you can use a higher C&A discount until you are there. Not sure there is a suggestion other than wait till you hit Diamond to book

NextCruise was able to do this but it was roughly two years ago.  They had to contact corporate to have it applied.

 

We were on Anthem and booked a 6 Night on Freedom to get exactly to 80 points.

It has been almost two years for us, we booked at next cruise when we were platinum.  The cruise we booked would take us into emerald.  They were not able to give us discount at the time of booking but gave us an OBC for the difference.

You only get the discount you are entitled to at the time of booking. If you want to apply your higher discount after you achieve a higher level your reservation will be repriced at prevailing rates unless you are booked in group space with inventory still available tithe original price.
