Cash out 'winnings' in casino

Going on the Legend very soon. I take a certain amount of cash specifically for gambling, and prefer any 'winnings' - or whatever's left from that day's play funds 🙂 - not be put on my S&S card/account. Can I cash out each day at the casino cashier, or...? Any insights appreciated. Thanks.

Yes you can cash out as often as you wish.  Good luck we had a great time on the Legend.

Thanks - my second time on this itinerary, but it's been 10 years. I see you were just on the ship - any other tips, cautions, etc.? 🙂 

 

As I recall, any funds remaining at the end of playing a given slot machine automatically go onto my S&S. Do I just ask the cashier to give me a certain amount of cash against that, or...? I know I have to keep a certain amount available for on-board expenses, etc.

Yes, cash out when you are finished. (You are optimistic most of us do not anything left to cash out)

I think you are misunderstanding this. 

 

When you are playing on the slot machines, you are actually setting up a completely separate account, funded by your on board account. You are using your S&S card to do this, but you can only charge/transfer money from your shipboard account to your casino account. You can't send money the other way. The money in your casino account doesn't go back to your S&S account at any time. You are required to cash out before the end of the cruise. There is no benefit to cashing out each day if you intend to play any more at a later time. If you are unable to cash out, you will receive a check for any monies left in your casino account. This will take several weeks. If the amount is less than (I believe) $5, it is forwarded to the St. Jude Children's research. 

 

Of course if you are playing at the tables, you have chips and it is up to you when you cash those in. The same applies, if you intend to play some more, there is no benefit to cash them in everyday, it just might be convenient for you.

Thanks. I'm really not a newbie at this, but it's been a while, and I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to keep the cash deposit I'll make upon boarding separate from gambling funds. I will bring cash (X amount/day) for gambling, and don't want to spend more than that each day. With moving to different machines and knowing how funds go in/out (of whatever account), there must be a way to ensure I'm not using that $200 deposit. Do I have to keep a running total on a calculator, based on the amount I walked in with? Surely there is a way to keep it separate...?  😄

Like was said, you transfer money from your S&S to your casino account. Given your scenario, you could put your X in cash on your S&S each day, then transfer to your casino account. Or if the slots take cash, you could add it that way. I am not sure if they do, I only play table games. Then at the end of the day, you can cash out your casino account, then start again the next day.

Your casino bank isn't your S&S cash deposit.   It is seperate.

Yea as said you won't even be touching the money on your sail and sign account unless you specifically do that. Your casino account is separate from your sail and sign... just the same card. Think of your atm card when you go the atm you select checking or savings. When you put your card in a slot machine you can either put in cash or if you had money left in casino money you can deposit that on your machine or if you need money you can charge your sail n sign account. (I try to NOT do this as can add up fast lol). What ever is left before you change machines goes back on card to casino bank. You can not even transfer it to your sail n sign account unless you cash out and than go to guest services.

I won $1250 once - that's as big as I've hit on a ship. As a general rule, the winners are either the guy in the seat next to me, or the machine I just left. 😉

Yes, definitely agree about using the S&S account - funds go really fast that way. 🙄

If I understand you correctly, my niece does this on each cruise.  She puts $500 in on the first day.  At the end of the day, if she has more than $500, she goes to the cashier and asks for whatever that amount is back in cash.  She limits herself (or tries to) to $100 per day, so on day one, she stops before reaching $400 and so on....

 

You can go to the cashier's desk and ask for any part of the money from your "Casino Bank" as many times as you like.  When I get a fairly large win, my sister always seems to find me (lol) and I will go to the cashier and take out $100 to give her, leaving the rest in the "bank".

THIS is not true as the Casino part of your sign and sail card is known as the bank.  Its two different things.   IF you fail to close out that account by closing of the casino on the last night-- you lost all that money.  Announcements are made a lot in the casino that last night.  and its on the fun times

There is a charge if you get money from the casino cage-- NOT if you use your sign and sail card.    Set up your account on any slot machine following the directions.      Your card is encypted with your birth month and year    and you set up a 4 digit pin  code.

If you fail to cash out your players bank, Carnival will send you a check in the mail (unless the amount is small - not sure what the cut off amount is.  I believe they donate that money to a charity)

Nothing hacks me off more than people spreading BAD information.  This is blatantly false.  The reason they tell you to cash out on the last night is because the casino is not open on debarkation morning and you won't be able to get to those funds.  But you haven't "lost all that money".  That's ridiculous.

It's not a form.  They have your address on file, you know.  You leave money in your player bank, it lands in your mailbox about two weeks later.  No fuss.  No form.  And no lying.

What part of "AUTOMATICALLY forwarded to guests" do you not understand?
