Tansy Mews Posted December 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2019 Just wondering how long it takes to sail from White Bay under the bridge and past the opera house. Even a good guesstimate would be welcome! We are hoping for a meet and greet but don't want to miss this sail-away. Thanks!

The_Big_M Posted December 31, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2019 I'd probably allow half an hour, since it sounds like you want to be at the Opera House waiting for the ship to sail past. If you only leave 15 minutes it may not be enough.
Tansy Mews Posted December 31, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted December 31, 2019 Actually we will be on the ship, not the land. We are trying to figure out how long we will spend admiring the view as we leave Sydney. My husband now says he is sure that there will be more to see! Not just the bridge and the opera. We will be in Sydney (jet-lagged!) for four nights before we leave for our cruise. Frances

It's also quite different to seeing the sites from the sea than the land. Leigh
CupcakeSusie Posted December 31, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) I agree with Leigh - there is a lot to see and very much worth spending your time talking it all in until you are past the heads. GUT2407 Posted December 31, 2019 #9 Share Posted December 31, 2019 We eat on deck that first night to have the beautiful experience from the dock to the heads, and have sailed out of Sydney every cruise. Never tire of it.
GUT2407 Posted December 31, 2019 #10 Share Posted December 31, 2019 Do try and be up for the arrival too, watching the city slowly come to life is amazing.
