Hi, we are sailing on the Encore on the 1st March and have a 2 night pre cruise stop in MIAMI. We are flying in from the UK on the Friday afternoon , so will be staying Friday and Saturday night. Can anyone recommend a good convenient hotel? And also the best thing to do in MIAMI on a short stay?

Thank you

Depending on your budget the Mariott Biscayne Bay is right near the cruise port. They are on the trolley route which is free

and you can ride it to the Bayside Marketplace. They are also on the MetroMover route which is also free and you can

ride it to the Perez Art Museum and also the Science museum. All are but a 10-15 minute distance.

Hampton Inn & Suites, Brickell/Downtown is very popular with cruisers. It's in a great area with shops and restaurants around.

If your budget allows it, the Epic (A Kimpton property) is a very luxurious hotel, right on the Miami river and with views to the ocean from many rooms.. There's also a JW Marriott right next door.

stay at the Marriott.  There 3 of them right next to each other   great food and close to everything.  Take a taxi to the cruise ship (they offer shuttle abot 20 dollars but take a taxi for about 25  that way you can pick your pick up)

We used the Holiday Inn Express by the Miami Airport, since they include free parking.  You won't have that problem, so you may wish to stay close to the ocean.

One thing about Miami, it seriously has a crime problem.  Before you go into a certain area of the city, find out what areas not to go into.

Have stayed at both Intercontinental And Marriott Biscayne Bay with port view rooms. Enjoyed both places.

Uber is the way to go, about 1/2 of what a taxi costs. I've been in some really bad smelling cabs before Uber .

I usually stay at the Intercontinental

I support this option 100%, unless you stay in South Beach and decide to wander the streets admiring the art deco architecture and many dining options.

Enjoyed both almost equally.

If you get the intercontinental pony up for a waterfront view. Truuuuuust me.

Thank k you for your advice. As there is a sale on with intercontinental that includes breakfast, we are going to book that. As we are only there 2 nights (1 full day) we were thinking of doing a hop on bus tour. Does anyone know how far it is to the stop from the hotel please? And is the nearby park safe?

Thank you👍😁

Clevelander hotel south beach Miami is an excellent party place. Google the place

. If you’re young and looking for fun this is the place. Walking around area is excellent. Versace lived in the area.
News cafe in south beach is excellent for people watching and breakfast.
