Brilliant thank you. Looks like thats where we'll go. Are taxis readily available ?

We got the ships shuttle to the Marina Mall and back.

The hop on hop off bus is at the terminal.

There was plenty of taxi's too.

Fantastic.

First time we flew Newcastle/Heathrow-Dubai

Second time Newcastle-Dubai direct.

Both times we arrived around midnight and stayed overnight in a hotel.

Last time we flew Manchester-Dubai arriving 8.30am in Dubai and took private transfer to Port Rashid to check in.

You pass the QE2 on the way to Port Rashid.

You can see the tower in this photo. The lift is free and you can get snacks and coffee etc at the top. There are seats all the way around.

No dress code for the mall.

We wore shorts.

The mosques are the only places where you need to cover up.

The Dubai Mall and the Emirates mall are brilliant.

If you plan to go to Burj Khalifa pre-book on line as you will not get on on the day.

Afternoon tea at the top of the Hotel Burj Al Arab is a lovely experience with great views.

There is no Wall of Shame and absolutely no one policing entry or departure (wink wink).  In fact there isn’t even a sign outside Vortex saying closed for private function so anyone could walk in and go to the drinks table... they are not serving from the bar itself.

Glad you are having a different experience.  I was describing OUR experience with that same Hotel Director on the the Rhapsody.

In AD you can get the red HoHo bus, just show your seapass card and you get off at the first stop which is Abu Dhabi Mall.

Lots of info about all ports on the All about Jewel Dubai page

No it is free until the first stop apparently. You just show your seapass to identify yourself as a ship passenger. I have not done this so no idea how they differentiate between First Stop Freebies and those who have paid for the full ( overpriced expensive)  tour!!

There is also a free shuttle that goes to World Trade Centre mall on the hour and half hour.

The HoHo cost is £100 for both AD and Dubai or £56 for one 😳

The cab fare from ship to mosque 🕌 is around 70 AED which is £14.  It’s a long way!

We got the free transport to the mall and then got a taxi to the Mosque. Our driver stayed with us and, gave us an informed tour of the mosque, took pictures etc, then drove us back to the Mall. He was from Egypt and very friendly and interesting. But apart from the Mosque which was amazing we weren't that impressed with Abu Dubai

Hi,

Excited to be back on a Royal Carribean ship again, we are sailing in one week.

Some questions:

1. Is the drink package valid on the beach day at Sri bani yas?

2. I know the jewel doesn’t have the same internet connectivity as the new ships. Does anyone have any speed/ latency results to share?

3. Is there any refund of port taxes for the cancellation of Bahrain?

thanks again

The shuttle was a HOHO bus which takes you to the Marina Mall and back only unless you pay for a full Abu Dhabi tour on the HOHO bus.

Our seapass cards were checked on the bus.

Hi,

I was wondering if somebody knows who is  playing the piano at the schooner bar?

Last summer there was Micheal from the UK. Wondering if he is still on the ship?

Sailing the last week in februari.

Happy sailings
