Any suggestions on what to do with luggage after a cruise docking at the Port of Miami? We don't fly out of Fort Lauderdale Airport until late afternoon and we wanted to find something to do inbetween. Suggestions?? Thank you.

Try and book a hotel day room.

We recently used DayUse who specialise in booking day rooms worldwide.

We had use of a room for 6 hours where we left our cases and spent time exploring San Francisco.

Check and see if your airline and flight qualify for the Luggage Valet program.

Thanks will look into this

You are welcome.

Hotels themselves were not offering day rooms but referred us to Dayuse.com.

There is free cancellation and you pay the hotel when you check in.

Do they do luggage valet from Miami to FLL

If a ship does Luggage Valet from PortMiami (not all do), they will offer the option to either MIA or FLL.

Or rent a car and lock your luggage in the trunk as you enjoy Fort Lauderdale or Miami.

THIS!

We purposely schedule our flight home for late afternoon or evening so we can go to Fort Lauderdale, eat on Las Olas, and hang out in the warm weather before heading back to "winter".

Thanks all for the great suggestions. Looks like Luggage Valet is not available for Symphony of the Seas (Miami), so I will look into DayUse and Daycation. I'm from Calif and right now leaving anything in the car invites breakin's. Especially if the crooks can spot a rent-a-car. Terrible right?

Hotels by day is another source.

We’ve used day use in Fort Lauderdale before and plan to again in April.  We book a cheaper evening flight and enjoy one more day of vacation.  Last time we rented a car, and had a nice lunch in Lauderdale by the Sea but the hotels rooms are even better allowing you to nap, shower, etc before an evening flight. I look at it as the cost of an excursion for another day. It sure beats sitting at the airport.

Where can I find information on luggage valet?  We are flying into FLL but cruising out of Miami and will have a late flight home.  I would love to use this service if it is available to us.

Edit:  Never mind, I see that it is not offered at the Port of Miami and only on 7 night sailings (ours is a 6 night).

Graham...thanks for the info.

You are welcome.

It was fantastic having the day room as we had somewhere to leave our cases at the end of our cruise while we explored San Francisco and could then shower and change clothes before going to the airport. The hotel concierge checked us in for our flight back to the UK and printed our boarding passes.

Great way to end a great cruise. Hope you're doing well. Safe travels my DS friend.

FLL airport has a baggage valet service on the first floor near baggage claim.  They charge $5 a bag.  On our Dec. 2019 cruise we took a Lyft to FLL, used this service, then took a Lyft to the beach for the day before flying out early evening.  Worked out pretty well for an additional beach day!

You are welcome.

I have just booked a day room in Barcelona for June after our cruise. We had a great time in San Francisco having a day room.

There was 34 hotels to choose from on Dayuse.

We have booked for 10am till 4pm.

Most hotels offered an early time like ours or later times
