Time to the airport in Miami

We are arriving in Miami, off a RCCL cruise on Friday, Nov 20. Ship is suppose to arrive in Miami at 5 AM. We are coming off two cruises so we will have several pieces of luggage and will be hard to self disembark. So say we disembark the usual way, what time should we be looking to book our flight back to NY? Can we make an 11:00 flight or is that cutting it too close. We are what one may call, nervous nellies about these things so I don't want to have to fret if we may be running a bit late. The next flight available is 12:30--would that be a safer bet. We would love to make that early flight, but not at the cost of a worrisome trip.

thanks for any advice.

Cheers

Len

Is an hour and a half really worth your peace of mind?

Go with the 1230 flight if you are nervous about 11AM.  It's so little difference that it doesn't really matter.

For an 11:00 flight you need to be at MIA for bag check and TSA by about 9:30; on a weekday the trip from POM to MIA will take 20+ minutes (taxi - even larger SUV cabs to hold your bags - are a flat rate fare of $28+tip between POM and MIA), which translates into off the ship, with bags, and clear of customs/immigration NLT about 9:00.  With a low number you could make the early flight; but if you are nervous and as suggested above, why not choose the later flight, enjoy one last breakfast in the MDR, and take your time leaving the ship.
