Valley Church Beach or Darkwood

We take the local bus and usually go to Darkwood Beach.  Have been there many times and the water was calm with no drop off.  The last two times in 2019 the water was very, very rough.  It was very difficult to get in or out of the water.  For this next cruise this Feb., we are thinking on going to Valley Church Beach.  Does anyone know how long of walk it is when we get off the bus to get to the beach at Valley Church.  Also will the water be rough?  Is there a drop off?

You have nailed the Antigua beach issue.

Even when a poster recommends a beach very confidently based on their own visit, you may find situation very different this season espacially about drop off

Have seen differing (rather contradicting) reviews about Antigua beaches drop-offs.

With most reporting rough swimming in shallow waters abd sharp drop-offs

Only thing I can report with certainity about current situation (few weeks ago) is Turner's has sharp drop-off and difficuklt swimming in shallows even on calm day.

Valley Church bus drop off is by the side of the road and the walk to the beach is about a 1000 yards. Go back to Darkwood as the drop of at VC is steep but manageable getting in, exiting the water is a 8.5 on a scale of 10.

Thanks for the info.  We thought we would go to VC first and if no good, hop on the local bus and go to Darkwood.
