BTB procedures

Recommended Posts

We are doing our first BTB on NCL Dawn starting in April. I have a few questions.

1. How do they handle the registration for the second leg of the BTB?

2. Has anyone ever had to pack after the first leg? (We will be I the same cabin)

I apologize in advance because I am sure these questions have been asked before but with the new format of this site, I haven't been able to find anything.

Thanks to anyone in advance who has experienced tis. We're really excited.

You will go to the front desk the morning of the second cruise and they will take care of your registration for the second week (including your new key card). If you are in the same cabin you will not have to pack. There will be a letter delivered to your stateroom the day before disembarkation giving you all the instructions you will need.

This is an easy straight forward deal - especially since you are staying in the same cabin -

basically your on board account remains active - your key card may still be used -

depending on the Port you maybe required to leave the ship briefly and clear any customs -

the information provided by KateQ22003 pretty much sums it up -

Only thing to watch out for if you have Latitudes status that may change between cruises

I.E. going from anything lower than Platinum to Platinum where there are perks bonus one

gets free dinners laundry etc. - If this is the case check with the Next Cruise people on board.

One thing to note - when going back on the ship you will have prime priority as you are already

a guest and don't have to re-register - if going ashore you will have to pass the security check

point coming back on board.

Have dining show shore excursions or other reservations on the second leg you will have a leg

up on getting on board early and getting things all squared away - lucky you !

Thanks to both of you for all of your information. It sounds quite painless. Thanks especially for the heads up on the shore excursions pointer.

It may be even easier if the two cruises have the same Reference; everything just rolls over.

If your turnover point is a US Port then they will make them clear the ship = ie everybody must ding out.

In San Juan we punched out but did not leave the ship, just hung out in the theatre and were the first ones back on board.

If you are not wanting to anything but "stay" on the ship then you may be advised to meet somewhere on board and then be escorted off, go through the formalities and hopefully go straight back on.

We have done that and been back on in 10 minutes, other times we have had to wait till they have cleared the ship and then get back on "first".  Sometimes before the suite people sometimes after them.

I did a BTB on the Escape about 2 years ago in Miami. We received a letter in our room with all the instructions. We changed from an inside the first week to balcony the second week so we had to pack up our stuff and set outside the door, but you won't have to do that. In the morning we hung out at O'Sheehans with a few others until we were escorted off the ship, through customs, and waited in the terminal for a few minutes before heading right back onto the ship well before anyone else.
