Ship leaves MIA on Thursday. What time to arrive?

Hi there!  We are sailing in a few weeks with our ship leaving from Miami on a Thursday.  Trying to decide whether to arrive early 10am to the port or sleep in a bit and head to the ship around noon.  We will be coming from Hollywood Beach.

We usually arrive around 10, but this time it is just two of us without kids, we have been on the ship several times already, and are wondering if we would just be sitting in morning rush hour traffic if we leave Hollywood Beach around 9:15?

What to do?  We don’t want to arrive when everyone else is and just wait in line.  So the choice is arrive early or later?  What would you do?

Thanks!

If you arrive at POM about noon-12:30 the early rush should be gone; quick check-in, little or no lines, and you will quickly be on the ship for a late lunch with rooms usually available about 1:00 - plus you get to sleep in and avoid the tail end of rush hour traffic. 😎

I avoid arriving before noon to any cruise .... by noon the early birds have usually cleared out and we go thru the process in minutes with no lines.  Lunch is still being served and often we can drop our bags first too.

I'd shoot for 10 like you normally would.  Traffic won't be that bad.  If an extra 10 minutes of traffic is brutal for you, go later.  Otherwise, no real reason to avoid going at your normal time.  10am is rather late for rush hour anyways.

Arrive later around 12:30 p.m.

You avoid the rush hour traffic and personally I like getting on ships closer to 1:00 p.m. No lines, no rush, no agressive early bird passengers and cabin is ready or almost ready.

To get there at 10:00 a.m. you would sit in some traffic. Wait it out.
