nyyhoneybee Posted January 26, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2020 We are one night away from Emerald. Will we see a difference in perks enough to make a last minute 3 night cruise worth it? (we won't need airfare we can drive to the FL ports)
blackshirt Posted January 26, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2020 No. Additional perks for Emerald are very little.
Ken at the beach Posted January 26, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2020 You get a can of soda or water and an extra $25 balcony discount. Definitely not worth taking a 3 day cruise over just to jump a level.
time4u2go Posted January 26, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2020 Nope. Emerald is a fairly useless level. Not even sure why it exists.
sellwingri Posted January 26, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2020 Keep in mind that you won’t receive any benefits until the cruise after you hit your point total.

It exists in order to prolong the trip to Diamond while still making you feel like you are making progress up the ranks.
jagsfan Posted January 26, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 26, 2020 You do get a cookie with your bottle of water or can of soda.
Gregg00ss Posted January 27, 2020 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2020 Your question has already been answered but we were in same situation as you. Wife and I are 2 points away from Emerald and have a 7 day cruise booked in November. Started looking for a cheap 3-4 day cruise to take before then so we were Emerald for the 7 day. Wife inquired if it was worth it and of course being the wise ass I am I told her it would get us a free bottle of water. Little did I know at the time, that actually is all it would give us, hahahaha. Live 1-2 hours away from all the ports in Florida so still keeping an eye open for a great deal, but not gonna go out of my way just to get Emerald. HBE4 Posted January 27, 2020 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2020 Financially for the additional benefits, it's not worth it. But it's a great excuse to take a quick inexpensive cruise, especially if you are near a port.
Tulsacoker Posted January 27, 2020 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2020 We booked a 5 days cruise only because it would get us to Diamond before our Transatlantic. Would not have done it for any level less
LeeW Posted January 28, 2020 #11 Share Posted January 28, 2020 As HBE4 says, any excuse to take a cruise is good. Not worth it for Emerald, but progresses you toward Diamond. Some short cruises are pretty cheap, especially on the older/smaller ships, and you can get a junior suite for the price of some ship interior cabins. We did a B2B 5 day on Vision in a JS and picked up 20 points.

Pretty inexpensive in relation to GS on Oasis class
