Combining promotions

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been successful adding Best Sale Ever, Europe $200 off Airfare with a casino rate?    When I called, I was told they could only add one of those promo codes, but currently I have another cruise booked with 3 for Free and the Europe $200 off Airfare with a casino rate, so I'm thinking I may call back and ask again.

I have had the casino rate applied to many cruises without effecting the promotion that was already attached.

I need to clarify my initial post.    When I called back, I was told the combination that cannot be made was the casino rate with the add-on promo codes starting at $20/day pp that add to existing promotions.    I know there's a very long thread on that topic somewhere.     I have the 3 for Free with the casino rate currently but wanted to add the promo code for $20 pp/pday for drink package and internet.    Not possible I was told.

I was told the same.  While you can switch over to the BSE and combine it with the casino rate, you cannot use the BSE add on code to a current booking unless it was on a very specific list of promotion codes if you are also combining it with the casino rate.  I had both my travel agent as well as one of the agents down at Princess look into this.

So, I had the anniversary sale with the airfare discount and a free excursion, obc, specialty dinner, 2 bottles of wine... and it was combined with the casino rate.  If I had the Cyber perk used for the anniversary sale (it was a bit different promotion code than the one I was booked under), it would have been allowed.  But, with mine, there was no way to use the BSE add on code.  They told me it was because of the free excursion, which was valued at $135 pp).   Their system would only allow them to go with the BSE promo (not the add on) with the casino rate since the anniversary sale promotion was no longer in effect.  I did the math and it just wasn't worth it for me to give up my perks or the casino discount to get the BSE perks.

I hope that made sense.  I was confused by it when they tried to explain it to me at first, too.

My TA found the exact same thing after the dust settled.  I was only able to add the BSE perks to a cruise that was booked with no promos and a casino discount.  I was not able to add the BSE perks to a cruise booked under the Landmark sale ($500 OBC pp) with a casino discount as the answer was that this one had "too many perks already".  I do have another cruise I booked under BSE with full perks and a casino discount.  You definitely have to do the math on each situation to figure out what works best.

I found it to be quite confusing at first, too ... but it is a great promo.  I booked a bunch of sailings under it ... none of them worked with the BSE add on with the casino discount ... just the straight promo with the discount.  One of my bookings, which I ultimately just had to cancel, was actually better under the Sip and Sail where my TA also added the WiFi.

I'm pretty happy with all my pricing with the included perks.

I was ecstatic about the pricing with the promos!  Very happy to finally get that one solved after the back and forth.
