La Romana Port

What is within walking distance at the La Romana port?  Shops, restaurants, last-minute booths to set up excursions?  Any information you can share will be much appreciated!

Check out videos on YouTube - just do a search for "La Romana port". I visited in April 2017 and used the shuttle bus to go to Altos de Chavon.

Were you able to find anything on the trolley to Altos De Chavon?  I am still looking to the point, I am thinking on staying on board the ship for the day.  I don't want another beach trip or scuba, etc.

I have reviewed this before, and I like you are having issues finding shuttle information.  I guess we will see as time progresses.  Thanks for replying.

If you do go, be sure to wear shoes with good support and good soles - the cobble stone streets/walkways at Altos de Chavon are tough on your feet.

Its not near the port, but I HIGHLY recommend Hilton La Romana.  Here is a link to a YouTube video. The video description has a lot of info in it, including day pass cost and taxi at the time we were there.

I've been there twice, once in Sept 2013 when it was under Dreams management and again in October 2019, which is now under Hilton management, and it is amazing...if you like the beach, pools, all-inclusive resort, and relaxing.  I can't speak for how busy it will be when you go, but both times there were not many people around. But, I know people that went in March 2014 (spring break time) and it was very busy. Also, if you like snorkeling, I can't say the snorkeling is the best...not many colorful fish...however, there are a lot of starfish.  I've seen them both times I've been there.
