We usually put up a decent amount of cash.  If there is any left over they return on the last evening if you ask.

May I please ask what is the minimum that  does Princess requires for a 10 day cruise?

Perhaps not a direct answer to your question as you will normally need to submit your credit card during boarding, but...

It has been several years since I have been asked to show a credit card at check-in. Some of the time I am asked if I want to use the credit card already listed in the booking, but still am not asked to show it.

I'd have an issue if they compared the card used for the booking to the actual, physical card. I used a virtual number for the booking. I've never been asked to show the card when doing check-in.
