Verizon service on carnival fantasy

Recommended Posts

I just returned from cruise on the fantasy and unfortunately was not able to use Verizon cell phone. I do have the international plan. In past years I was able to text (addl chrg) and call US while  docking. I talked with other passengers, some said the same and others said they had purchased the stay connected package and theirs worked. I spoke with a passenger from the Victory in cozumel and he also had the problem.  Any comments?

at sea no, but at a port you should have service. Mexico should be free with most plans or $10 a day unlimited

How old is your phone / what kind?

In most ports / international cities Verizon should work just fine through their roaming partners. I never had any major issues.

On the ship while its at sea - forget it - its very spotty and its not because of Verizon.

Most everything can be done via WiFi now anyways so you don't need to rely on cellular service.

That includes calling and messaging.

You won't have service while at sea unless you pay about $4 a minute.  Data is even higher.
