ksukent Posted June 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2004 I received my Celebrity documents and reviewed the suggested gratuity chart and was a little confused. I've previously reviewed the tip calculator link and thought the link indicated the tips to be per 2 person cabin. The Celebrity documents say per person. The documents also list the tour director and coach driver. . . is that referencing excursions? Thanks for any clarification you can add. ksukent Posted June 18, 2004 Author #2 Share Posted June 18, 2004 I think I figured it out. . sorry to bother everyone. The Celebrity chart just listed a lot more people than I anticipate so I was concerned I'd not planned adequately.

Rare TPKeller Posted June 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2004 Hi Sue, You are correct, the calculator defaults to 7 days and 2 people. The recommendations are "per person", but since 1 person per cabin is very rare, I set the default to be 2. It is very easily changed, and you can also set a cookie to remember it for next time! xanax Posted June 19, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Hi! We booked our first cc cabin and wondered if we tip every time someone brings us breakfast, canapes etc. (like room service), or is this included in the overall tipping? Thanks in advance Sensation! bob278 Posted June 19, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2004 In my opinion, if it is your cabin steward making the delivery, you can do it at the end. If it is someone else, a couple of dollars would be appropriate, but not required.
pooh1bear43113 Posted June 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 19, 2004 FYI: I noticed on our May Summit cruise that the recommended tip cabin attendant for anyone booked in CC category has increased to $4.00/pp/pd: Was not in our cruise docs. I first saw this in the blue binder on the vanity upon arriving in the room....then again in one of the Summit dailies toward the end of the cruise....no problem at all: very much worth it as the cabin attendent splits his take with his assistant. Also noted that the Chief Housekeeper's recommended tip increased to $0.75 (was $0.50). Again: wasn't in our docs - but was in the daily and the cabin notebook provided by X. Can't remember our cabin attendant ever bringing our room service breakfasts (booked in CC category) - seemed like it was always someone from the wait staff (uniformed) or a butler from one of the suites on the 9th deck....in any event, I always had at least a couple of $$ ready to hand to her/him on their way out. They really do scurry - and did such a good job setting up the table with flowers, linens, etc...... Pooh Bear =^-.-^= (AKA/Sharon and Will) REMBRANDT - Med. 9/1998: and so it begins! Lsimon Posted June 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Xanax: I always tip the room service a couple dollars as they deliver. It was never the room steward, although it was sometimes the same person. The canapes were delivered mid afternoon, usually when we were not there. They were delivered by a person who wheeled a cart full down the hall dropping them off at each room. I didn't see a need to tip this person.
