Getting to the Blue Curaçao Factory for $2...Review

Hey Everyone! My girlfriend and I visited curacao in December 2019 aboard the Crown Princess and wanted to let everyone know that You can take the public bus around the island for $2 USD for each time you ride!

Its in the video below, but you basically have to walk for about 5 minutes to the bus depot to get on. If you want to go to the Blue Curacao factory like we did, the bus makes a big circle around Willemstad and ends up at the other bus terminal on the other side of the floating bridge. The buses are nice, but they have weird times they depart, usually on the half hour. If they have already departed, you can haggle a rate with the mini buses at the same terminal (which we did). The bus will drop you off at the Burger King across from the distillery, so you will have to brave the traffic and walk across. We advise you do get local change or small US bills before you get on as the busses dont have change. It was a great way to see the island!

To get back downtown, just go to the bus stop where they dropped you off and hop on. It sounded like all of the buses end up at the bus terminal.

As for the Blue Curacao factory-note that they are only in production during the week days and there is no one to give you a tour. We were confused by this, but they do have pretty good signage for it to be self guided. Distillery gift shop was only open due to three ships being in port that day. The distillery lets you sample three types of alcohol and drinks are available to purchase for $8-12 USD (they dont skimp on the alcohol though). The prices of the bottled alcohol in the distillery seem to be the same as anywhere else on the island that we saw. We ended up spending 45 minutes at the distillery, but it looked like most tours that came through were in and out in 15 minutes. If you have any questions, id be happy to answer them.
