Kid friendly pre-cruise Miami area hotels?

Looking to stay in the Miami area for 2-3 nights before our August cruise.  Kids are 16, 12 & 7 and will prioritize swimming over breathing so pool or beach is a big plus.  Any recommendations?  Willing to branch out to the Ft Lauderdale area as well if there’s a great place... thanks!

we stayed at the Hampton Inn Brickell and enjoyed it very much.  It has a nice pool area, a cool bar area and free breakfast.  Also you are within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. It is a very safe, clean area that is also near the rail system that can take you all around Miami.

You will be about 10-15 min from the port.  You can Uber, taxi or take their shuttle which is $8 per person.

For the beach you will need to stay in Miami Beach - South Beach is the most popular and closest to the port.

Not many Miami hotels will not have a pool, so anywhere downtown will work.  Besides the above suggestion check out the Intercontinental, Doubletree, next door Marriott and the Holiday Inn - all offer some rooms with a view of the port.  The pool at the Doubletree is amazing.

If you are flying into FLL and choose to stay in that area pre-cruise check out www.sunny.org for lots of hotel and tourist info.

Thanks!  We intend to fly into MiamI but if there was an amazing option near FLL we would make it work.

In August I would check out to see if you can get a good rate to one of the larger hotels in Miami Beach like the Fontainebleau. Hampton Inn Brickell is a good choice, so is Intercontinental Miami. Plenty of other options. Almost any large hotel in Miami will have a pool. Or stay in Miami Beach and walk to the beach.
