kateiam Posted February 16, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2020 (edited) I am not trying to bend rules, just wondered if they really cared about the tiny 5 hr energies? My friend doesnt drink coffee and thats her form of caffine. would few scattered through my luggage be noticed? If not allowed, do they sell them on board? Rare 1025cruise Posted February 16, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2020 NCL does not allow beverages of any kind (except for wine with fee) to be brought on board.
Rare BirdTravels Posted February 16, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2020 It is not allowed, but probably would not be noticed

Wil some go unnoticed..... probably but do you want to spend time in the "naughty room" claiming your luggage because one was spotted.... or enjoying the sail away party? I do find it funny when someone starts off with "I am not trying to bend the rules"...... not bend, just break. ☺ Edited February 16, 2020 by esm54687

Or anything similar besides yucky red bull?
valleyvillage Posted February 16, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2020 Check Amazon, there are lots of different Energy Drink Powders that compare with 5 Hr.

I agree, just like the packages of NO-cal powders to add to water. There are many products to bring on board that wouldn't be a problem.

Rare bedfordmom Posted February 16, 2020 #10 Share Posted February 16, 2020 Throw a couple in your pocket since there is no metal in them they will not be detected as you go through the metal detector
zzupschuck Posted February 17, 2020 #11 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Obviously you want an answer from someone who ACTUALLY knows the answer. I have packed 10 pack boxes of 5hr energy in my suitcase on my last five cruises and there was never a problem. I say yes you can bring them. No, they do not sell them on the ship.
zqvol Posted February 17, 2020 #12 Share Posted February 17, 2020 The question is: Are they considered a Beverage? If I had to guess they are not a beverage and should be allowed, but some screener may think otherwise. The funny thing to me is that those bottles look exactly like my travel size shampoo bottles and I have never been stopped for those. https://www.ncl.com/faq#!#can-i-bring-water-or-soda-board
marktwothousand Posted February 17, 2020 #13 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Not a beverage - it’s a supplement. You will be fine

If you can find Jet-Alert it is what I bring along. It has 200 mg of caffeine and works great. They sell at the Dollar General Store.
broncofan99 Posted February 18, 2020 #15 Share Posted February 18, 2020 If you ask the answer will be no but my last 3 Cruises they went unnoticed. I put in my cosmetics.
yoolykeme Posted February 18, 2020 #16 Share Posted February 18, 2020 lol, you'll be fine. If you really want, you can put alcohol in a mouthwash bottle. No one is going to open your luggage for energy shots. They are the same size as most cosmetic bottles.
ncklhaus Posted February 18, 2020 #17 Share Posted February 18, 2020 (edited) Last time we cruised from NYC I had 24 bottles of Wal-Mart branded 5 hour energy type drinks in our carry on bags. I told the screener about them and was told they are considered vitamins or another health related item and not a prohibited drink item. Best bet is to be honest with them and not try to sneak it past them. Edited February 18, 2020 by ncklhaus
