Question about tipping porters

I believe I used the correct term, the nice folks that take your checked luggage when you arrive at the pier. This being our first long cruise, I assume I should be tipping them more (4 large suitcases instead of 2 large and 2 smaller). How do you decide how much to tip? I just want to make sure I am tipping an adequate amount. Thanks for any input!

I do about $2 for very heavy bags and $1 for regular. I would probably do $6 or $7 for two heavy and two medium. I've also seen $1 per bag. Mine are just so darn heavy!!

Sounds good. I haven't packed mine YET but I'm sure they will be fairly heavy...I am going to weigh them before we head off to the airport. Don't want to be stuff with overweight fees.
