Thrill water park water slide question

I wear gas permeable hard contacts and afraid of them getting washed out of my eyes on water slides upon splash down on slides. Can you wear glasses on water slides provided you have straps?

Swim goggles?  On Navigator they made me take off my sunglasses with keeper.  No idea on Coco Cay - don't think the price is worth it.  Water World annual pass is $69 for a park that is ten times bigger.

The slides are fast - you get a lot of water in the eyes, especially towards the bottom.  I wear contacts and had to close my eyes when things got too much.  I think wearing swim googles would work, and I'm pretty sure I saw some kids wearing them on the slides.
