Suite benefits

Hello all

I’ve seen all the headline benefits of staying in a Sky Suite like the restaurant and retreat, but are there any little known or little used benefits I should be aware of?

Anyone have any hints or tips to make the most of our 10 night experience? We’ll be on Apex.

Thanks in advance.

Many other perks-  Best to go on the website to get full list.  IMO so worth it!  On the Edge and will be on the Apex a wonderful retreat deck.  Has a full service bar, small pool, hot tub. they also serve lunch at retreat deck bar-    A great lounge and restaurant- other perks include butler service- priority boarding and disembarkation.

Take a look- we really enjoy the benefits!

You can have your Butler unpack/pack your luggage.  We have never used this service and I'm not sure we know anyone who has.

Feel free to ask the Butler, or the Concierge, to book any spa treatments or dinner reservations if you are not eating in Luminae.

If you would like afternoon savories (their term), talk to the butler and he can arrange.

Our last Butler was almost insulted that I got my early morning coffee.  I told him I did not want to call at 5:00.  He said it would have been fine to call.

Can you describe the lunch at retreat ????  Is it a buffet?

Is it served on both sea days and port days?

Also, I've forgotten, is Luminae open for lunch?  Sea days only?

Retreat Lounge has a small menu - not buffet I believe it is Hamburger, sandwich and possibly a salad and fruit platter.

Luminae is closed on port days but the Retreat Lounge serves their menu all days.

Comprehensive list reminder, thank you.......some Suite refections IMHO:

  • Dined in Luminae -most nights, some b'fast, lunch - service great, not enough menu choice but can order from MDR menu if you prefer
  • Michaels - enjoyed a few nights but not many use the room - maybe later in the PM; concierge very pleasant.  Sometimes a small classical trio
  • Priority check in - nice bright room to wait in, but too large in Miami for the numbers, not cozy
  • Debarkation - right after walk offs, but didn't go too smoothly on Silhouette
  • Amenities - same as concierge
  • Veranda - somewhat larger...S1 was long and not wide.
  • No mention of daily espresso, etc or escort to reserved theatre seating, but location of same isn't where we prefer to be.
  • 'Savouries'...same as Concierge...could have asked for others but not important to us
  • Butler tried but we're used to doing for ourselves in our own time.
  • The big plus and worth the $$s....the cabin is larger, closet is larger, other than that we're very happy with Concierge class.

As a previous post mentions, on M & S-class ships you may order from the Main Dining Room menu while in Luminae.  This is not the case on the Edge, and I’m assuming Apex will be the same.   The Luminae menus includes several everyday items which are not listed menu.

Jim you show the combined square footage of a Sky Suite as 308 sq. feet. The Celebrity web site lists a SS on the Apex as 398 sq feet. Are they inflating the size by 30%?

We just love luminae , service and food are both excellent and love there suite lounge  which is open from early morning to late night. We just got off infinity Saturday, priority tender if there are tenders. On disembarkation concierge will escort you off ship so you can leave either very early or be one of the last off the ship , we had a late flight so we had a Bloody Mary and relaxed in lounge .

Thanks in advance.

Most have mentioned the benefits on the website.  Here are a few others- perhaps more to your question.

The Retreat Lounge/Michael's Club concierge will do almost anything that Guest Services will do without waiting in that line.  They can address just about any issue or make a direct call and get things done.  They can get you tickets for Shore Excursions, again without waiting in that line.  Also in tender ports they will escort you to the tender ahead of the lines without need for tender tickets.  They (or your butler) will make specialty dining reservations even sometimes at times that appear to be booked.

The Retreat Lounge Concierge will also arrange a private meeting for you with a Future Cruises agent in the Lounge, again without needing to go to that area of the ship and wait.

You can get water, soft drinks, beer, wine in the Lounge and bring it back to your suite.  Or ask your butler.

You might get invitations to suite only events on board- like meeting the officers or free tours.

In Luminae you can also request the MDR menu or the Blu menu (on most ships but not Edge/Apex).  Also you can request other items not on the menu - common items like mixed salad or escargot.   But sometimes for special entree requests give them 24 hr notice.  On some nights in Luminae there is a special desert cart with delicious candies, chocolates, cookies and pastries.

Thanks everyone. I look forward to many of the above mentioned things. Only 49 days! 😃

If you would be interested in a galley tour, a bridge tour, theatre tour let the concierge know early in your cruise. If there are fewer sea days fewer tours may run.

The entertainment early evening in Michael’s/Retreat a few nights of the cruise makes a pleasant change. Afternoon tea is served there too...

The OP has asked specifically about Apex.

Bulgari  bath products are no longer available in Sky Suites on Apex. They’re only in the upper suites. 😊

On the Edge, as it will be on the Apex, afternoon savories and sweets are no longer served in Sky Suites. They are available every afternoon in the Retreat lounge.

The Suite life is wonderful, hope you enjoy your cruise on Apex. We had a great time on both of our Edge cruises and are very much looking forward to Apex this Fall!
