How do you spend your sea days?

Ever since we booked our cruise a few weeks ago I have been fascinated with cruise vlogs and trip reports. I love seeing how people spend their time on-board. Thought it might be fun to start a post asking folks what your ideal sea day looks like? What’s your favourite way to spend your day? What activities do you like the most? This cruise will be the most sea days we’ve ever had on a cruise, we have 4! Honestly, I am looking forward to them the most. I am looking forward to a good gym workout followed by lots of pool time / reading, maybe checking out trivia events with my husband.

I usually enjoy the "Beyond the Podiaum" presentations. during sea days.  I also like to indulge in the Cafe Al Bacio treats as I never eat sweets at home. Trivia can always be fun. Just exploring the ship is also fun for me. I work out in the gym daily as well.

I LOVE sea days.    I am an avid walker and walk 3 hours a day and supplement with a good workout on the Elliptical.  If the weather cooperate I walk the track and climb forward and aft stairways to the higher deck unless blocked by the Retreat.  If the winds and weather not cooperating I walk the hallways.   I listen to Audio Books to keep me entertained.

I love many of they beyond the podium speakers and often attend.   We also often take an afternoon nap and stay up late.

In between there is eating, Coffee, eating, Coffee... LOL

Also love sea days.

Usually read the Dailies and pick out a couple activities to enjoy .Maybe trivia or bingo will fill a time slot.

My wife always wants to spend time at the pool and I find my way to the casino in the afternoon for some BJ and dice if they open that table.

I try to wait until pm for my first frozen cocktail.

I enjoy lounging by the pool, meeting others for mahjongg, sipping afternoon tea, playing trivia, walking around decks, and attending the lectures. My husband is content with a cup of coffee and a reading a paperback on our balcony!

Hope this helps!

Oh my..... I LOVE sea days, but am MUCH lazier than previous posters!  No plans.... just wander around the ship looking for a good shady place to hang out and read/people watch... hook up with people we've met...  Sometimes by the pool bar, or Cafe Al Bacio, Sunset Bar, or my veranda!

We like to attend the podium lectures....always interesting and best in the small theater.  Also like trivia...thanks heavens it’s a team effort!   In the afternoon I like to take a small sized stitchery project up to the Sky Lounge to work on.  Usually meet new friends who stop to chat.  I guess that’s Don’s “rest” time in the cabin.  .LOL.

Next X cruise will be interesting....haven’t been on Connie since 2016.   Purposely delayed sailing until after revolution status.  Also she sails from Tampa.   Going in November for Thanksgiving.

Even though I have been retired for several years, I still find that reading for FUN during the middle of the day, not reading for business, is absolutely decadent.  Really totally decadent.  So sea days often find me reading -- something that I find entertaining for ME.  Almost as good as a really good piece of chocolate.

Get up whatever time we want and enjoy coffee and croissants on the balcony. We only ever have a light breakfast on sea days as we will usually enjoy a lunch at Sushi or The Porch (on available ships). On Eclipse their lunchtime ‘specials’ in Oceanview on sea days did entice us away from our usual plan...’Pie Day’ was wonderful as was the day they brought fresh fish on board. Much as we enjoy our sea day lunches we try to keep our portions small as we want to enjoy our evening meal...

We will usually enjoy a swim in the Solarium mid morning, then drip dry at the sunset bar before our lunch...Afternoon rest on the balcony, afternoon tea in our room then it is cocktail time...

Sea day evenings are great for enjoying Murano’s...Fresh after the afternoon nap we will linger over cognac and coffee and finish our evening on the balcony counting our blessings as we enjoy the sound of the sea and the light from the moon and stars...

I couldn’t agree more, I’m already researching the list of books I’m bringing with me!

I am enjoying reading everyone’s responses, dreaming of relaxing days at sea.

Have a lie in, breakfast and then a good walk and long steam session. Usually a trivia in there too. Sushi lunch then cards and reading - nap - will usually take part in a scavenger hunt or game show in the afternoon.

A scavenger hunt sounds like a fun time!

We’ve been on two transatlantic cruises, looking forward to another one with plenty of sea days. We don’t sleep in, but head to the elite breakfast for yogurt, fruit and a pastry to go along with a cappuccino. Sometimes we will have a bigger breakfast, muselii , eggs at the buffet.

an ideal day would have exercise...yoga, walking laps in the sunshine, basketball

coffee....

a dip in the pool.......solarium

a nap...

a good book ( iPad or kindle)

a win at roulette or a slot machine

an early lunch at the buffet, salad and/or Indian food preferable

visiting with old and new friends

a bit of contemplation time staring at the sea

listening to live music somewhere on the ship,

and finally........being grateful to be on a cruise

Sea days!  One of the best things about cruises are sea days!

I love getting up early to watch the sun rise with a cup of coffee.  Normally few people around.  Even if I have a balcony, head out of my cabin to watch the sun. After that enjoy a great breakfast.

Next find a perfect place to relax and watch the sea.  Don't have to be near others.  Long as I can see the watch, hear the sound that's all I need.

Then the most important part of sea days NAPS! I hated naps as a child.  But on sea days, nothing like coming back to your cabin, take a shower and then a nap.

End the day later with something sweet either from room service or taking a slice of cake or other dessert from dining room

Can't wait until August to enjoy this

I might sound a little weird but I love enjoying myself with a laptop on my lap sitting in a cafe watching the sea, the waves.. sounds of the world. Drinking latter or eating something delicious. Being by myself is the most priceless thing of all. Even on board of a cruiser =D

After 5 port days in a row we were exhausted and just laid on the upper pool deck, drinking, eating, napping, dipping in pool and repeating, not necessarily in that order, knowing that soon we would be back at work. More sea days I may have had the energy to see what else was going on. The solarium is great too.

Eating and Drinking and Sleeping, Oh My! Image result for cowardly lion pic

This will sound hilarious but to be honest this is all we need. I mean the men at least. All we need is some buzz, nice food and a comfortable place to have a nap after. OMG I remember my last trip to Italy. Lying on the couch with Aperol Spritz and eating some delicious spaghetti.. ohh boy
