I've read the various articles on here and on ncl but I am still a bit confused. Maybe someone can help me out.

If there are 4 ppl in a room and 3 are platinum, how many complimentary dinner vouchers are given to the cabin?

From NCL's website (easy to check 😉)

"This benefit offers two dinners for two at a specialty restaurant for Platinum, Platinum Plus and Ambassador guests. Each stateroom will receive a voucher in their Welcome Back card on embarkation day for:

  • - One dinner for two at Cagney’s or Le Bistro with a bottle of wine
  • - One dinner for two at Moderno or La Cucina
This benefit is no longer delivered per guest but now delivered per stateroom. Service charges are included in this benefit. Guest to present voucher to their server before ordering. Benefit entitles each guest to one appetizer, one entrée and one dessert of your choice. Entrée items up to $20 are covered. For items over this amount, an upcharge will be added to your onboard account."

But this is incorrect when there is a 3rd Platinum member in the room. That 3rd person would get the dinner vouchers, but only as a dinner for one, not a dinner for two. If all 4 were Platinum, then they would get 2 sets of the dinner vouchers for two. Oh, and the entree is up to $35 now.

Thanks KSSS2013, I missed that FAQ posting.  Here is what it states in full:

"I am traveling with other Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador guests in the same stateroom? Do we each get a voucher?

No. If there are 2 Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador members in one stateroom, only one Welcome Back Card will be delivered. This gives the correct number of Dinner for Two vouchers the guests are entitled to.
For 3rd and 4th Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador members in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered.
If there is only a 3rd Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador member in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered but this guest will be treated as a solo traveler who get one dinner only. The benefit is only if there are 2 guests dining on the same visit."

Actually, the second set of platinum meal vouchers should cover passengers 3 and 4, so everyone gets 2 meals each.

The NCL website is very badly written here. They reference the third person being treated as a solo traveller. The problem with solo travellers is that some people ask whether they can "split" the vouchers, so that they are 4 meal for one, rather than 2 meals for 2. They are trying (very badly) to say that the 3rd person can't do that. However, they can still use them as 2 meals for 2, as a solo traveller can.

If you read the question about splitting the vouchers if you are a solo, it does state at the end that the benefit is valid if there are two guests dining on the same visit. That also applies to the 3rd person in the OP's situation.

Accuracy and consistency....two things that you won't be getting from NCL's site.

You explanation makes more sense than giving passenger 3 a special cert, which NCL probably doesn't have anyways...they'd have to modify it with a sharpie.
