seattle first time

I'd recommend moving your post - this board is for Canadian ports-of-call on the Pacific side of the country, and there are several regular posters on West Coast Departures who don't respond here because they're not Canadian. Any time you're talking about Pre-cruise time, posting on one of the Departures boards is the most relevant - and you will get more eyes on your request.

FWIW, I'd stay either downtown core or in Seattle Center - if budget is a concern the latter will save money, but it's also a better location for visiting some popular sites (Space Needle, Chihuly, Science Center, MoPop museum, even the Zoo). The zoo is the thing we have repeated most often; next would be MoPop; and last the Seattle Art Museum (which is a pretty easy walk from most Seattle Center hotels).

We arrived in the early afternoon the day before our cruise. This meant that we needed to make the most of our time in Seattle. We booked our night’s stay at the Westin Seattle which was downtown and in a great location to get to what we wanted to see. We found Pike Place Market an easy walk right down the street from the hotel and the Monorail literally a block away. The monorail saved time walking to the Needle. I pre bought our tickets to the Space Needle which included the Chihuly Garden and Glass. Having pre bought these tickets saved us time standing in line. Had we been there a week earlier (we cruised end of Alaska season), we could have squeezed in the MoPop which would have been great. Check out the websites for hours and exhibits.P1030807.thumb.JPG.a687fd93969e1f32c2955bcbf72b250f.JPGP1030612.thumb.JPG.a73f9631aac505fa5d12d61c0efbc930.JPGP1030613.thumb.JPG.8fb13be3fb0c19fb4240a75a029df4a9.JPGP1030784.thumb.JPG.416134c00b18106a831ecc7d77cc89f4.JPG
