On thee Facebook page some people have received the schedule for 2021 and can start reserving from tomorrow. Is anyone able to post it here? I am aware we can’t book until March 23rd but would be interested to see the dates and itineraries on behalf of my Mum.. Thanks.

I was going to say it must be people who have pre-registered, as they receive details in advance, but pre-registration means that you receive the information but have to wait until Saga call you before you can book - the telephone calls are made in strict order of registration.

The brochures will start going out on 23rd March, although nowadays travel agents get theirs first, as they are selling cruises before many of us have even seen the brochures.

These are the cruises for 2021

You can hopefully get an idea of what would interest you.

We now have to wait for a phone call.

Thanks for posting this. It looks like we won't be booking anything. Many are too long for us, and the others seem very samey from the titles. I'd hoped for some fly-cruises.

The double occupancy basic for a 14 night cruise is approx £2500

The double occupancy basic for a 7 night is around £1250

Single 14 night around £3900, single 7 night approx £1800

Obviously these are rough guidelines.

Saga are also throwing in excursions now but not seen any details.

These prices are all with the current 35% discount.

As cabins are sold the discount will decrease in 5% steps.

Hello. Someone was kind enough to post a link to the new 2021 cruises (the full brochure, not the list), but I can't now find it. If it was on a Facebook page, has it been deleted? Or was it on here somewhere? Thanks.    OOOOPS. FOUND IT !!!

We had a call this morning, and have also booked a standard cabin with 30% discount!

Which cruise did you choose?

We have booked the September 2021 East coast of America one on Discovery.

Just had our Riviera cruise cancelled and tbh it doesn't look as if the June 2nd one on Discovery will be sailing either.

We have booked  Ireland on Discovery in June 2021.  We have an escorted tour to Sicily booked for this May, which is very unlikely to go ahead, plus our Taste of France and Spain cruise on Adventure in September is looking doubtful, unless the situation improves  before then.

Just been to the supermarket and they have sold out of chicken, baked beans, loo rolls and eggs!  Never mind, we’ll just have to hunker down and hope for the best.  It’s a first world problem after all, and we are both well.

  • 2 weeks later...

We were due to go on the April 10th cruise on Spirit of Discovery. We were told that we'd receive a call from Saga in due course as they were dealing with bookings in date order of cruise.  We booked the cruise quite late so had to pay the full amount.  We understood if we would transfer the cruise we would get 125% of what we'd paid.  Saga eventually called us on Friday 27th.  By this time we had been able to look at the new cruises on line.  We chose to transfer the cruise to one in May next year and by the time everything was sorted out we owed Saga a relatively small amount.  This was all sorted out over the phone and we were also able to take out Saga Insurance.  Previously we didn't have their insurance because my husband had insurance through his bank which meant that when it first looked as though the cruise wouldn't go we were not able to transfer the booking at that point because they were only allowing people to transfer if they had Saga Insurance.  As it's turned out we are able to book a cruise for much later than we would have done had we been able to transfer before the new cruises were issued.  Maybe it's a leap of faith to think we'll be able to cruise by next May but we live in hope!

That’s very helpful information annieuk, thank you.  The balance payment on our September cruise is due end of June.  We were wondering whether to pay it as we’re not convinced that the Coronavirus threat  will have ended by September.  We may ask Saga if we can transfer the money we have paid on that cruise  to the cruise we have recently booked for June 2021, when, fingers crossed, the virus will no longer be a concern.
