Good hotel and info to cruise port for Athens

We are on a May sailing from Rome to Greek ports but, of course, we may be switched to a Greek port because of virus. Just trying to figure out other options if the cruise isn't cancelled. We know what to do at Rome but not other ports. Thanks.

We stayed at Athens Status Suites which is more of a modern hotel. They had a rooftop bar with a view of the acropolis and a restaurant on the top that had the most amazing food. Close to everything. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the AVA Hotel in the Plaka.  Great location close to everything, wonderful accommodations and excellent customer service from the staff.  Athens is a wonderful town for exploring the Acropolis and other ancient sites.  Don't miss the fascinating Archeological Museum.  We had a great experience using George's Taxi service for airport pickup and drop off as well as half-day and full day tours.  They are very responsive and reasonable.

My sister-in-law highly recommended Hotel Grande Bretagne. Quite pricey but as they were there on low season it was still affordable.
