Who's keeping their March cruise?

Well I just re-visited our 3/22 Joy sailing and there were 110 open cabins yesterday and 216 open at this point of the day.

I kept checking to be sure I was looking at the correct sailing, thinking I must be doing something wrong.

At first I thought all the open insides were because they were upgrading to open balconies, but by the time I finished, I realized that was not the case.  Virtually all cabin types increased in vacancy today.

Open Cabin Stats:

7 new havens open  (sold out for weeks)

9 Concierge Suites

39 Mini-Suites

82 Balconies

27 Oceanviews

52 Insides

Have you tracked for the Joy today?  Curious to see how the numbers have changed.  I imagine it will be very fluid until the 48 hour window.

Yes!  I did this morning over coffee and was just about to report.😉

The vacancies went up to 314 cabins this morning:

Havens - 14

Concierge - 16

Mini-Suites - 47

Balconies - 129

Oceanview -  38

Inside - 68

That's another 100 cancellations since late yesterday and over 200 since Monday.

Can you check for Escape leaving on Saturday?  NCL web site says Haven and Suites are sold out.  I find that very, very hard to believe but I don't know how else to check

It may not be shocking for Saturday.

If I were NCL, I would be telling the upgrade company to process those bad boys NOW!  Get any extra revenue the can while there are bids in the hopper.

In any case I did check the H4's for you, and my site is showing 2 available.  However I have seen that there is a time lag.  My guess is that NCL is processing upgrades for Saturday's cruise.

Oh...and for those interested in surfing the web

HINT...cruise travel site starting with "CRU".

Do you know the individual stateroom capacities? I’m guessing I can look that up somewhere.  Overall meaning what percent full is the joy right now based on availability.

I believe there are 1800 cabins (thereabouts)...so we went from close to 94% full to 82% full in less than 36 hours!

Interestingly... or not, I was checking the availability for the Mar. 29th cruise on the Dawn.  Earlier this week, balconies, minisuites (glorified balconies) and suites were sold out, now, some cats. have 15+ cabins available.

Talk about a mass exodus...

Wonder if it's b/c of departing in NYC??

I agree!  I sail April 4th on the Breakaway, and I just upped my already "good" bid a little bit because I figured that they would be doing just that.  So far nothing....which seems pretty silly to me.  I had a casino comped cruise in a mini-suite, so I just offered what I would have paid for a balcony cruise for each of the Haven categories, should be a win for both us imo.

Sailing Encore 3/15. We had 4 Haven suites available this weekend, 26 this morning. They just awarded Haven bids this afternoon and we got ours. $2,270 total for the 4 of us (bid $1,135 PP) to move from balcony to aft suite. I know one bid for the same suite was $1,800 PP and they were upgraded as well. Thanks to those who cancelled because there was only 1 aft suite left this weekend lol.

My son and his friends are leaving on the Pearl on Sunday, how is the ship? Is your itinerary also Mexico/Honduras? My son and his friends are looking forward to their cruise but I'm getting sucked into all the media hype and just want to have all the facts.  Thank you.

Everything is great so far. Yes...that is our itinerary as well and we have had no problems.

Is anyone being upgraded with all of the empty rooms? Think it would be worth it to call and ask? We have the bottom category of balcony, but it would be nice to be on a better part of the ship. Think it is a  possibility with all the open rooms?

I work with someone that is leaving on Bliss on Sunday.  They are going and hoping to be upgraded to Haven LOL
I have Encore booked for August to Bermuda. If the ships are able to get to their ports and not being turned away, we are going.

I was just able, though, to have my TA include the $600 OBC for both Encore cabins we have booked that NCL is now offering.

My H4 was sold out and he was still able to apply and applied for my dd's Haven cabin too.

I am not worried about the virus (I work in a college) but I also do not want to be stuck on the ship for weeks either.

I am just going to see how it plays out but will be making final payment next month.

Tried this yesterday (getting $600 OBC) and was denied by TA and NCL. TA tried hard but NCL wouldn't budge. What TA did you use? Any advice?

Sadly the choice was made by -not me- to cancel our 3/22 cruise on the Joy -Mexican Riviera. I’m sad, disappointed about the timing of this, but ultimately it’s the right thing to do.  Going to wait it out since so much has evolved just today.  Maybe all cruises will suspend their sailings and we’ll get a refund vs the current FCC.

Another concierge room on Joy 3/22 will be opening up. We were keeping our fingers crossed, but both our employers and my daughter's school have officially said anyone who travels will be asked to self-quarantine. A work conference I was supposed to go to in April has now been canceled and a colleague is being tested after domestic travel last week.

The person I work with had a balcony cabin on the Bliss leaving NY on Sunday.  Last week they were upgraded to a spa minisuite. They put in a bid for $400 pp for Haven and she told me this morning they were upgraded for $800 to Haven Forward Facing Penthouse, I think Deck 13.

Getaway NOLA on the 29th here. We will be on the ship unless it’s cancelled.
Let it be known to all cruising with me that I am a sneezer. I sneeze year round, into my elbow, as politely as possible. I am not a virus carrier. 😂

They were able to upgrade twice?
