Giovanni's. Much better than Chops which has been very inconsistent for us lately. the Filet at Giovanni's is fantastic
jalves Posted March 10, 2020 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2020 We've had a couple of less than impressive meals at Chops on all three Oasis class ships. Our choice would be 150 Park or Giovanni/Jamies instead.
Fathom5 Posted March 10, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2020 We have enjoyed 150 Central Park. We were pleased with both the quality of the food and service. They had some nice selections on the menu not found elsewhere on the ship. Although not a specialty restaurant, the best lamb I ever had was at the Solarium Bistro. As mentioned previously, Chops has been somewhat inconsistent.
time4u2go Posted March 10, 2020 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2020 Same here regarding Chops. It has been disappointing the last couple of times we've eaten there.
Mapleleafforever Posted March 10, 2020 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2020 The only specialty restaurant that we will ever do now is Jamie's Italian. We used to go to Chops and Giovanni's all the time and before that Portofino but we don't feel that it's much better than what you get in the MDR or Windjammer anymore. Not worth the extra cost for us anymore. It might also be because we've done them so many times before though.

It used to be very good. Personal favorite is 150. Edited March 10, 2020 by Snit13 add
Rare thrifty99 Posted March 10, 2020 #8 Share Posted March 10, 2020 Been to all of the restaurants and I’d choose 150 Central Park of I had to choose only one.
George C Posted March 10, 2020 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2020 I really liked chops on oasis did it a couple of times , but prefer atmosphere in 150cp it had no children running around, loved cheese at end of meal.
firefly333 Posted March 10, 2020 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2020 Chops, but dont order the surf and turf. The lobster wasnt cooked enough. The steak was great. I dont like italian hence my choice. 150 is a special choice you cant get on every rcl ship.

Not that it’s the best hibachi in the world but it’s a fun and lively dining experience for a cruise.

Yes, Izumi Hibachi was quite good, and they were very accommodating when I asked for a reservation for my wife's birthday. The group at the table (none of whom we knew) all seemed to enjoy it. taglovestocruise Posted March 10, 2020 #14 Share Posted March 10, 2020 We have changed from Chop's to Cp 150 as our first choice. I have never had a problem ordering the Tenderloin for two as my main meal. wife always has the Veal medallions and we both have a cucumber Martini.

Chiliburn Posted March 11, 2020 #17 Share Posted March 11, 2020 I won’t bother with specialty restaurants unless they are very cheap, just not worth the money considering you have already paid for food . I’m a fan of room service and a bucket of beer on the balcony.

WI-Cruiser Posted March 11, 2020 #19 Share Posted March 11, 2020 Any except Chops, not just Oasis class but across the fleet. Has gone downhill IMHO.

Fathom5 Posted March 11, 2020 #21 Share Posted March 11, 2020 If prices keep dropping, it should be no problem to upgrade to a suite.
