SeaDog, you might know the answer to these question's. Thanks in anticipation.

Ā

Would there be fees for anchoring in Manila Bay? How long are they able to remain there?

Ā

Good questions šŸ™‚
Ā

I would think there "would be" a fee for anchoring in Manila Bay, but I would think it would be cheapish.

Ā

How long will they be able to stay there?, that is the big unknown, I guess they will stay there till they off load their crew, then who knows where they will go.

Manila Bay is getting very busy now šŸ˜®

Ā

Here are all the ships at anchor in Manila Bay, Philippines:

Ā

Golden Princess and Explorer Dream has joined the fleet in the last few days.

Ā

Today Ovation of the Seas and Ruby Princess joined the rest of the ships.

At the moment at anchor we got Sun Princess, Sea Princess, Majestic Princess, Queen Elizabeth, Carnival Spirit, Pacific Aria, Voyager of the Seas, Spectrum of the Seas, Costa Neoromantica, Costa Serena, and Costa Venezia.

Carnival Splendor has arrived off Manila, but it looks like she has not had approval to go in to Manila Bay yet.

I imagine it is a combination of a few things, cheap mooring , the philippines is allowing it, high percentage of crew nearby for when cruising starts again, and probably location to various cruise markets depending on when they start again.

One of the few countries that will allow them?

Ā

Apparently part of the deal was that the cruise ships anchored in the bay must let the Filipino government use them as quarantine stations for the repatriation of migrant workers.

Ā

A fair assessment.

Virtually all ports will charge for anchoring near to the port - ie inside port limits.

The ships at Manila Bay are doing the 14 day quarantine & then local crew can go ashore - hopefully.

Radiance otS is anchored off south eastĀ Malaysia along with over 100 other vessels in international waters.

QM2 & 2 P&O UK are anchored in Weymouth Bay just east of Portland UK.Ā  Most likely free.

I am not sure if this has already been posted but there is aĀ very interesting channel on YouTube called Ā 'Same Ship Different Day" .

The owner ofĀ the channel is the Alfie Smith who is the Second Senior Officer on the Coral Princess. He hasĀ posted a number of videos over a period of weeks documenting what's been happening and how Princess are going about getting crew and passengers home.

It looks like Spectrum of the Seas has left Manila Bay, Philippines. Unsure where she is now heading to....

Ā

Ā

The only cruise ship that was in Australia and is not inĀ Manila Bay isĀ Radiance of the Seas, who going by reports I have seen, she may have gone in to layup somewhere inĀ Brunei.

Ā

I cant find her on Marine Traffic at this time.

Ā

If I hear any more or see anything I will let you know šŸ™‚

This has just been posted on Facebook:

Due to Typhoon Ambo (VONGFONG) approaching, some of the cruise ships have decided to leave Manila Bay to ride out the typhoon at sea. šŸ˜®

Thanks. I was wondering if they would have to move.
