for fun: Do/Would you still put on all your makeup and decent clothes if you are quarantined

Hi Kat, that is great about the job! Congrats🙂...no wine for me......actually, I have not been doing any partaking of any booze.

Especially since I have been home from the hospital.....the Drs really frown upon it. Fortunately, I don't

care about drinking so it doesn't matter to me.

I will be watching tonight as well..........

So, we are now nearing the end of October.......I found out yesterday the meds the GI specialist prescribed me don't

mix well with my cancer meds...no bad side effects but the ulcer medicine takes away some of the effectiveness of the cancer medication.

So, we are changing the ulcer medication to an "H2 blocker"......it is supposed to do the job

without affecting the cancer medication. Lets hope so!  I called my Cancer Guy

and he said ok.

Just seems 2020 keeps bringing more stuff..........😲

Congrats, Kat! Do you think that there will be many changes to how things are done at the resort because of Covid? I wonder if masks will be required? Nice that you will have different experiences and some sense of normalcy in your days.

Oh and I checked the schedule for the local public radio station. No overnight talk, just classical music. 😞

Lois, good to hear that your meds are straightened out. Hope all goes smoothly.

So wine is chilling and dinner is planned in anticipation of tonight’s big event. I hope there is some useful information spoken tonight and that I can actually hear it!

The manager made herself an office out of our closet this summer since there is only enough space for 2 of us at the desk with distancing.  Our county is already mask-mandatory, so no problem there.  I'll keep wearing even when if it goes away.  We won't be doing our coffee/cocoa machine because of the self-service (bummer there - I lived on the triple lattes I'd make) and cookies & wine & cheese apes-ski is gone.  May have the guests handle their own luggage to avoid contact.  I'll find out.

Our local public radio has had BBC Worldwide overnight for as long as I can remember.  We have local volunteer DJs, so the music varies wildly depending on who is working,.  Sunday evening from 7-11am is "Cada Domingo" with Spanish language DJs and Latinx music and interviews.  It's a great place for our Latinx community to keep in the know.

Lois - good that you're getting the meds straightened out.  Too many meds from too many docs just gets messy.

Sharon, good on you for getting people out to vote :)

Kat, congrats on the job prospects, such good news!

Melody, I heard today on the radio that the CO got huge today, I hope you are safe!

Lois, glad that they caught the medication interaction sooner than later....hopefully the new one will work as well :)

Keksie, I used to have a trial subscription to Sirius, but I never listened to ut, so I didn't bother renewing...  I do like listening to science podcasts though :)

Sally, good on voting!!

hope I'm not leaving anyone out, today was a work day, now running out to pick up Sushi, & then we'll watch the big event :)

Kat, good news on the job, can you put off filing for social security for awhile Now?

Lois, glad they caught that medication error, too many cooks spoil the soup.

Debbie, Our fires are awful. One went from nothing to 10,000 acres to way over 100,000 acres in less than 12 hours. Wiping out a lot of forest north & west of Denver. They’re still 3 hours from us, but smoke is still very much in the air. Quite chilly (21) This morning & hopefully precipitation rain/snow with good amounts forecast over the mountains, hoping it’ll help the fire situation.

I've had XM/Sirius in my car (& now house) since 2007, love the no commercial aspect & being able to always get a channel when traveling. Wouldn’t be without it (our regular radio stinks)

My Christmas cactus is very confused...must be 2020. Melody

Hi Melody, glad the fires are still far from you, but the size of them is absolutely insane, hoping your cooler weather will help, & keeping fingers crossed that the rain/snow will come.

& happy friday :)

I forgot - the ski resort where my condos are (they are slope-side) are requiring face masks for everything except actual skiing down the hills: waiting in lift lines, on the lifts, in the lodges...  And the "Buff" kind of things will not be allowed, you must have a genuine mask.  That's going to piss off a lot of the 20-something ski rats as they wear those all the time.

Melody:  just saw that the entire town of Estes Park has been asked to evacuate.  That is truly sad.  I spent some quality time backpacking in Rocky Mt. Natl Park back in the day and Estes Park was our starting point,  Beautiful area.

My Mute button for my TV got quite a workout last night.  Then, I started bouncing between one particular "news event" and reruns of Southern Charm.  I figured I could scope out names of bars & restaurants in the show to give to my grand niece who just relocated to the area (she's the new teacher).  The rosé was a nice drink to go with the activity.

Whole Foods Note:  I had their "everything" chopped salad bag last night.  Surprisingly good.  Everyone is gettng on the "Everything but the Bagel" seasoning wagon lately.   It had a not-too-heavy Ranch dressing with it.  I'll buy this one again.   If I was so inclined to DIY, I could, as I have EBTB seasoning here at home.  But, I'm a lazy girl and I'll just buy the bag with everything already cut and prepped.

I've got an appointmant with my opthalmologist in 2 hours.  My eye has been bothering me again and my driving vision is fuzzy again.  I'm hoping I'm just paranoid and it's allergy, but I want to be absolutely sure.

OOTD:  It's a cool gray day here.  Leggings and a sweatshirt are on tap.  It's 27 right now and only going up to 40-something today.  I just can't get myself to wear a jacket yet.

Thanks Lois.

Phew!  She said everything is OK, pressure is normal, no infection.  Just really dry and irritated, which is a long haul CV-19 thing.  So, all I have to do for now is regular drops to keep it hydrated.  If it doesn't help, she'll have me do some low-dose steroid drops. She said she wants me to be paranoid and to come back for any strangeness.

I attired in my camo leggings and one of my Woolx long sleeved 1/4 zip shirts.  Ladies - if you want a nice zip shirt to wear this Fall/Winter for "active" wear, look at Woolx.  Again, pricey but worth it.  Today's shirt is the Rory 1/4 zip "sweater" in the Midnight Heather.  Soooo comfy!!  I bought the black one last year and wore the majority of my camping trip in the evening.  It's not really a sweater, but a nice combo of wool/poly panels.  And, it doesn't stink up!

It's still in the upper 30s - it feels so nice and crisp!

Now, I'm going to relax and de-stress for the rest of the day!

Hi Kat, glad the Dr said your eye is ok!

Upper 30s?😲 wow.........it is still shorts and t-shirt weather here!

***Not a political comment***  Yesterday we had over 71,000 new cases of Covid!☹️

I know the real MD's are saying we are going to be having a VERY hard winter........looks like it is already starting........

Please be safe everyone!

Yeah, it is.  She did say that the dryness can contribute to fuzzy vision.

Lois - I keep seeing those COVID numbers and get a combination of angry and sad.  Through the COVID group I belong to, I've come to know quite a few people who join when their spouse/grandparent/etc. are in the hospital and on a vent and end up passing away.  It's really upsetting.  Then there are the lucky ones who spent time in hospital, on vents, and recover.  Those make me grateful.  Then there are those of us who got the "it's not that bad, go home and take Tylenol for 14 days" version but are still having issues months later.  That is frustrating.  It's the gift that keep on giving to all of us.  If you get it, you get to roll the dice to see how it will affect you.   My county, where we've been very, very good and have had that mandatory mask thing going on all summer & fall, well, we just moved into the dark red "high" situation.  We're back to 10 people for a meeting.  I think it's going to be a terrible Winter, illness-wise.  No one in right mind can think it's just going to go away.  I'll be hanging at my house unless I must go do something.

The weather temps are "relative".  I felt great outside today.  For me, I didn't see a jacket.  But, lots of people did have one their puffies.   I remember when the ex and I would go down to Arizona for a long weekend in the winter, we'd be sitting out on our deck in shorts & long sleeve Tshirts.  We'd watch the golfers go by in sweaters or jackets and wool hats.  If we went to breakfast, people thought we were crazy because they were wearing jackets like it was 10 degrees!!!

Have a nice evening!
