Hello all, thanks for the anniversary wishes, I’m sure I’m not old enough to be married for 34 years! We’re just resting now after a lovely Sunday lunch out before we go to the party.

A couple of pics for you

Happy anniversary!

Thank you. They do a very nice Sunday lunch - 2 courses for £14.95. Can be starter and main or main and pudding. A large glass of wine  for £5-95 very reasonable we thought!

Thanks.

I meant CORAL not OPAL restaurant.

We were in Coral on 3 nights and 6 lunchtimes.

We rarely ventured into the Horizon buffet and yes it was Beach house and not Glass house on Deck 16.

We had room service breakfast every morning.

There was a £2.50 service charge for this and there was no hot items to eat or drink.

Graham.

Is the service charge something new for Iona? I always have breakfast delivered on P&O and never had a charge.

Same here. Bit sneaky bringing that in. Not any new items either.

We thought that as well.  We had a balcony cabin for a change and were looking forward to ordering a light breakfast to have on the balcony for a few days.  Luckily we were on deck 15, so I just nipped up to the buffet and brought some stuff back.

Room service

Additional cost
For a little extra
Additional cost
Dining

Morning, noon, and through the night, if you fancy a bite to eat in your cabin, you’ve a mouth-watering room service menu to choose from… meals, desserts, snacks and drinks, all prepared with care and delivered with a smile. A small supplement applies to each item, apart from breakfast, which is included in the price of your holiday.

Onboard Activities

So p and o say on their website additional cost apart from breakfast ? Trades description or what !

Happy Anniversary to you both!

I went for a Christmas meal at Rowlands a few years ago, food was very nice.

I hope your party is an indoor one, given the torrential rain that is gracing Medway right now.

Afternoon all. It's piddling down here, thundering too.

Graham, lovely photos of your cruise, hope you had a good time.

I've just sorted out my clothes for our Devon holiday next week and am feeling a bit cross with myself, lots of clothes that either don't fit or barely fit, not much wiggle room for cream teas and Hockings clotted cream ice creams. 🙄

I don't know if anyone's been keeping an eye on the news about the earthquakes and tremors that have been happening on La Palma over these last few days. There were predictions of a possible eruption, and the volcano erupted  this afternoon.

As long as it does not fall into the Atlantic, in which case bye bye New York, the Caribbean, the rest of the Canary Islands,  be pretty bad for the UK as well. Don't panic 😱

It's been 50 years since it last erupted. Let's hope it doesn't cause a chain reaction.

Hardly likely as those ports are all in the UK or the common travel area with Ireland

Thanks that is what I thought but my nieghbour asked me earlier today if we had organised our tests for when we get back and I started to panic.

Thanks Avril.

We got home a couple of hours ago after a 315 mile drive home from Southampton.

We had an amazing 7 nights cruise on Iona.

The ship was fabulous and is now top of our list of ships.

Graham.

Great photos Graham, can I just ask which stateroom you were in as the balcony looks a decent size. Thinking of sneaking a cheeky one in later 😃

Dresden

Am sure that is the one that a number of the folk we know at work used --- will check tomorrow.

We were asked if we wanted to use Dresden as we work your end but as we live the far North we went for a centre at a church we used to attend. What is the first name of the lead at your centre --- think I know her

We do the same thing, we like the back on deck 10 especially the corner cabins on Azura and Ventura.  We are at the back of deck 10 again on Sky Princess.

We fell in love with the corner aft cabin on Azura and had booked the same one on Ventura but it was cancelled. Have one similar for August 2021. 🙂

Graham, your photos look fabulous, glad you had a great time.

I enjoyed strictly last night but there seems many good partnerships this year . Adam Peaty with Kataya could be amazing. We will see.

Thank you Sue.

Yes the breakfast service charge was a first for us on P&O.

We had room service on Britannia 22-26 August and there was no room service charge for breakfast.

I usually give the waiter £2 but not when their is a service charge.

The little corridor from the door past the bathroom was very narrow so I collected the tray from the waiter just inside the room while he kept the door open and I placed the tray on the dressing table.

With our 8.5% discount it came to £2.29.

I felt sorry for the waiter as I always give a £2 tip and had a bank bag with several £2 coins in for this purpose.

Graham.
