I was supposed to cruise on the Magic this past Saturday. I had three mastercard rewards being sent to my room. Has anyone ever had this happen where they redeem a reward and their cruise gets moved or canceled and if so what happens? Barclays does not have online help or an email i can send this question to and they have a message up on their site about call times so i figured id ask here first. Thanks!

I have this card also, but don’t understand what you are referring to as “MasterCard rewards”.  Is there a benefit that I am missing out on?

Greetings,

Cal number on card. They will take care of everything and give you a case number to monitor situation.

I would but I'm trying to see if I can get an answer here first before I call because like I said on my first post, they are experiencing very long delays.

Yeah you get points from your purchases and you can redeem them for on board rewards.

Thank you.  I rarely use the card (only for 10% off shore excursions) and used only the cash rewards in the past.

How does the 10% off of shore excursions work? I booked a cabana at Mahogany Bay with my CCL MasterCard. How do I get 10% off?

On the statement for the month you charged the shore excursion you get a 10% rebate/credit.

Check your account online (or wait for your statement).   About two days after the excursion posts, you should see “shore excursion credit” posted with a 10% credit.  If you use your card for other things, you may not have noticed.

They are also offering a $200 on board credit if you hold the card.  We are booked in September and have the Mastercard $200 credit and if we keep the booking and sail, so far there is an additional $50 obc from Carnival for keeping it.

Can you tell me how you go about obtaining this $200 on board credit if you have the CCL MasterCard? Do you have to submit a request to CCL or to MasterCard? Thanks for info!

To be totally honest I didn't do anything.  We had been invited by our DD and SIL to cruise with them and his family in September.  When I went on the Carnival website to book, it was one of the offers.  Similar to a casino offer or early saver offer but for Mastercard holders.  I can tell you we had until April 1 to book so maybe it's still an option.  I know the lines are crazy busy but you might try and call.  There is also a number on your card.  I'm not sure if they can help you or if they just deal in the fun points or not.  Good luck and stay healthy!

So just wondering, is there anyone that might have an answer to my orginal question about what happens if your cruise gets canceled and you have on board gifts from the carnival Mastercard? Thanks

Just saw today that all of my points got put back onto my account. We canceled a month ago and our cruise was supposed to be on March 22nd just to give you a frame of reference.

My wife discovered two fraudulent charges on her Carnival MasterCard today. She locked the card and called them, but they told her they don't do charge disputes over the phone, she has to use the website. I told her that's not very encouraging. If they don't care enough about customer service to personally help their customers take care of fraudulent charges, that's a huge red flag to me. Oddly enough, when she looked again, the two charges were gone. She doesn't know if that was an odd side-effect from locking the card or some kind of error, but it can't be trusted now. She's going to have a new one issued. I told her she should find another credit card. She doesn't spend enough on the Carnival card to rack up enough points to make it worth it to us. We do use it to get 10% off of excursions now & again, but there are alternate methods. So I think she should find one with good benefits and a customer service dept. that's actually willing to help.
