skynight Posted March 29, 2020 #5 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Current largest ship is now the Sky Princess by a small margin, based on gross tonnage which is a measure of interior volume not weight. Suppose the additional cabins on the Sky add more interior space than the enclosed pool on the Majestic.

Stanley is named for Stanley McDonald Princess initially used a Mexican sombrero as their logo since their cruises all went to Mexico. The sombrero was used for a number of years. I don't know if Princess actually changed the ship's logo to the sombrero on the very first season on the leased Canadian vessel.
skynight Posted April 1, 2020 #19 Share Posted April 1, 2020 Some useless information, but interesting anyway. In 1977 Princess had some 3 day party cruises RT L.A. on both the Pacific and Sun Princess stopping at Ensenada and Guadalupe Island. The fares for double occupancy, not including port charges, ranged from $573/pp for the most expensive promenade deck outside cabin to $252/pp for the least expensive inside cabin. When you compare to today's fares, today's fares with inflation seem less expensive.
