Petra is amazing!  We were fortunate to go there twice while leading tours of the Holy Land.  The Treasury is at the end of a spectacular ride or walk through the Siq Canyon.

A couple antique items arrived for the garage today. Also had a few other deliveries arrive for Christmas.

After lunch was the fun stuff. Well first the laneway markers, snow shovels, and ice melter placed where they need to be for the winter.

Is this fun or what?  It got a bit colder as the day went on but still amazing for mid-November. 

 

Finished. Garland and lights all up and out. Almost an hour and a half, not too bad.

I have a question, Who mows and maintains all of that grass? Is it something you have done regularly, or is it a low growing variety? It is a very nice looking, (extensive) grass, green way.

Now for the grass, we do them two different ways.
 

With over 500 acres there is a bit of lawn around here. Mom’s lawn is 5 acres but thankfully it is the largest of them all. We have used the same lawn service for decades. They send out a crew of 4, with two mowers. It takes a full day to do all the lawns as well as 2 miles of “lawn” ditch. The one is large rotary Toro similar to this but older, which does the cut ditches.  
 

 

 

We also have a few other sites with “farm”  grass. I cut it once a month in the summer with another 1.5 miles of farm ditch to which I use this 15’ cutter. I do all the winter snow maintenance/program.  
 

It takes a look of work but it looks nice when done.

I got a new projector for the front of the house today...in an effort to not have Nate try to hang lights this year...we’ll see how that goes.

 

New dining chairs arrived today and I am thrilled! still have 2 more to put together n then I’ll do the before during and after of the dining room transformation

Miss Carrie. Just like the Stephen King novel of a possessed girls Carrie is not the most friendliest kitty you ever met.  She hisses claws until she gets to know you. 
She never walked her first two years of life because she was carried every where. 
Now that she is 14 she is becoming a normal cat.

You both had me beat. I bought my first condo when I was 22 after college. It was new so I didn't have to fix it up. Just painted the walls so they weren't so stark white. I only lived there 4 years. I met Mike and 8 months later we were married and I moved to California with him. My original plan was to be single until I was about 35 or so and then get married. 🤣  That plan got shot to hell but in a good way. 😍  Almost 34 years later and we're still going strong.

One can only hope. As cases go up I can only suspect our border with the States will continue to remain closed for a while. I’m afraid it won’t be open until a vaccine has been administered to many of the masses. 

 

Agreed.  We have a cruise planned October 2021 and March of 2022 but hope to book some once things get going again. 

 

I really hope it happens.  In all honesty I am apprehensive that I will be cancelling our October NRD cruise for a FCC next summer. Lisa and I were chatting about doing something next October like flying to the ranch in Alberta, or the cottage for a week, or the condo in Florida. All depends on so many things. 🤦‍♂️

well today had a bunch of curve balls...Nates surgery has been postponed. Our state has gone to “red level” which means most surgeries are off until Covid numbers are better. This means that all of our planning and scheduling and preparing for Nates recovery are for naught. His back pain will continue for who knows how long 😞

He can’t take months off in the spring because that’s when business picks up.

 

We also found out we didn’t get the house in Florida. They got another offer in that surpassed ours. I’m actually feeling ok about it. What is supposed to happen will happen, but still sad nonetheless.

 

I ordered myself the Iphone 12 as a consolation prize.

I think some is holiday shopping, but I think the news is exasperating it. They are so sensationalizing that some things are getting low on the shelves that people are starting to freak out like before.

Ah the plan continues.  Kudos on the "Avoid" list.  Nice thing about Google Sheets is you can get to it from every device.
