We used to go with family when I was young , loved Lake George and Frontier Town , as a adult in late 1970’s went there for some singles weeks at Grossingers and also Concord hotels great entertainment like Johnny Mathis.

Every crumb was eaten. This was our first trip to New York City, November 2011. Our high school marching band got selected to participate in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Son was the Drum Major for the band. What an incredible honor for the students. It was a fantastic trip and experience to NYC. Loved every minute of it. It was the famous line from Estelle Reiner, mother of Rob Reiner (director of the film) who played the part of the customer at that table. This was the first meal the night we got into NYC- Carnegie Deli as it was close to our hotel. It was 11:20 p.m. Late meal but we were starving. I am salivating here. Love the sign in Katz's over THE TABLE.

One owner decided their down force wing was the right height to dine from. Fries anyone I tried this. I was a lightly fried potatoes that had been sliced in one solid continuous piece. Think like how an apple is peeled, but the entire thing. It was delicious, but definitely not an item one would want to eat regularly. Pretty ingenious. Interesting concept! 1

Ahhhh, don’t say that, I’ll be watching episode 3 tonight. I guess I’ll just have to bear through it. Like you said, it’s great so far. That’s how I felt about “The Undoing” on HBO. All the episodes were great, it was really leading to what would be a very twisted ending. But then half way through the last episode it just did the most common and uneventful ending possible. Big disappointment.

It is a double loss knockout this weekend. Last night they played at the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. They won, so hopefully it continues on this weekend. Our diamond for the night. Great sunset filter on the back drop clouds. Owen made a few big catches in the outfield. He was on first for the final inning and caught the pop fly that ended the game. However, the play before he ran 60’ and slid to almost catch a pop fly in front of their dugout. Think Kevin Pillar type action. The price paid is below. After the slide he said there was a bit of trash talk from the other team’s dugout. He followed that with, “making the final out catch was that much better”. Well played, Owen! Glad to hear you had such an awesome game!!! Nothing like playing under the lights, too!

The met up with a guy with the latest generation, and asked if he worked at Ford. Yep, it was Henry Ford III. That would have been so cool to have been there. Here is a little GT history for Canada. Only 10 new GTs were allocated to Canada for private individuals and one for all dealership owners. The dealerships had a raffle, for any of them that submitted for the draw. Individuals had to submit a letter to Ford and were selected by a review committee. I applied but unfortunately was not selected but in all honesty I love my 2006. It’s more of a throw back to the original one from the 60s. The new one is a modern super car. I know one guy who was selected and now had a new one. He knows another guy who was also selected. I’ve got to sit in one but that’s it. I have to say it’s still not as cool as an original GT. A dealer I know has had a few over the years. He currently has this right hand drive competition car. This shot shows just a few of his special cars. Impossible to replicate this sound.

Rare h20skibum Posted September 1, 2021 #28394 Share Posted September 1, 2021 (edited) Once again, I am seriously behind. Sunday and Monday were our last days with our two grandkids from PA. After the final days of summer / back to school party with another bounce house, our plan was to take them boating. But rain started moving in, so we booked a hotel room so we could all have some indoor swimming. Good grandparents that we are, we gave them wings. and Klondike bars Then it was more swimming on Monday morning. (At least my hair doesn’t look grey from the back)😂😂 And a trip to the Japanese restaurant for lunch. I can’t believe how much grandson can eat. An afternoon of lego building capped off their day. We had to buy another big box of basic pieces so they could get creative. They even took time out to sketch what they planned to build. Our living room looked like this for much of the summer. Rare h20skibum Posted September 1, 2021 #28395 Share Posted September 1, 2021 Blond hair and blue eyes. Yes, we do have two in this category. (their picture from this morning) Both my kids ended up with my blue eyes, and not my wife’s brown ones. Of course, my other grandson has dark hair and brown eyes. His mother had hoped he would keep the blue eyes he was born with, but they had changed to brown after a couple months. His first day was two weeks ago now.
Rare h20skibum Posted September 1, 2021 #28396 Share Posted September 1, 2021 Our first kid free day for a long time was filled with strange sights. Driving through Amish country, we had to get out of the slow lane. Not long after we passed him, we drove by a place with a couple of unique lawn ornaments. For the record, Susan told me I am not allowed to do this, or anything similar on our lawn. And, evidently because we were going to miss the remnants of hurricane Ida, we decided to drive far enough to experience some very heavy rain and flooding today. We did make it through.

harryfat1 Posted September 1, 2021 #28399 Share Posted September 1, 2021 Day 7 of the Disney trip report (Continued) After the refreshment, it’s time for another oldie but goodie ride – Disneyland Railroad. The WDW version has been out of service since December 2018 as they tore down part of the track that goes through Tomorrowland to make room for the new TRON ride for the 50th anniversary. View of Tom Sawyer Island. Never made it across the river to go there on this visit. Star Wars land sucked up too much of our time as it was new View of It’s a Small World from the train. Always admire the topiary work at Disney parks. I can’t even do a good straight line on my lawn with my edger at home There’s something deeply psychological about waving at strangers while you are on train/ship and they somehow wave back. Try it next time from a ship or train to see if anyone waves back versus if you waved at them while inside Target/Costco… The classic dinosaur diorama as part of the Disneyland railroad ride. As far as I know, only Disneyland has this as part of the railroad display. Here’s YouTube version with this really funny Disney guy:
harryfat1 Posted September 1, 2021 #28400 Share Posted September 1, 2021 We wanted another ride on the Pirates of the Caribbean, so we got off at New Orleans Square and hopped on with minimal wait. Blue Bayou. Top tier Disneyland restaurant. Ate there once many years ago Ride per YouTube: Then off to Tomorrow land for Buzz Lightyear. The original Shooter ride not getting much love at a mere 5 minute wait time. After that, time to head for Main Street for some obligatory souvenir purchases – how cute is that? As it was after 6:30, the wife and the boys headed back to the hotel from Main Street to get dinner set up while I walked back to Frontier Land area to get the famous Turkey Leg. We still have a lot of pasta leftover from previous night so just needed something extra to go with it. What better than the classic Disneyland turkey leg? As with all things Disney, there’s a line $4.19 per soda or water times 4 people times multiple days can become a hefty sum quickly if you don't carefully control what you buy Here’s the turkey leg all prewrapped so you can take it anywhere inside your backpack The walk back to the hotel right after exiting Disneyland. Down the street. Left at the light. Walk to the next light and then another left and you are there. About 0.6 mile one way. Turkey leg Deboned for everyone to share As it’s our last night of vacation (boo!), time to clean up and finish all the food in the refrigerator (Eat it or lose it). Leftover from Buca the night before
