She is looking forward to travelling on the brand new Elizabeth tube line when she lands. Wow, I never would have thought a pill cutter would be an issue. I just checked the TSA site to see if that is an issue here and they are allowed in both carry ons and checked baggage. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/pill-cutter Hope she finds one easily in London. 🙂 2

Must be inflation, I only got a quarter when I was a kid. 😁 3 hours ago, Ozark_Kid said: I just missed a free trip to Vietnam. The draft ended the year before I graduated. Same for me too. Rare A&L_Ont Posted June 17, 2022 #60939 Share Posted June 17, 2022 A photo dump from my phone from the last week. The corn should be knee high by the first of July. Owen had a ball game on Tuesday. They won 13-3. I enjoyed this husky rolling in the snow from the Zamboni dump from the ice rink. I wasn’t quick enough to get the pic of it rolling in the snow. Around 10:15 or so the Strawberry Moon made an appearance. The new LED lights are spectacular at our ball park. Not a dim area in the field. Owen says it’s easy to lose pop flies in the light.
Rare A&L_Ont Posted June 17, 2022 #60940 Share Posted June 17, 2022 (edited) It’s been so hot at night someone isn’t even sleeping in the barn. Lots have cut with the nice forecast here. Even at our place. There were storms off in the distance but not here. Temps are dropping which is good because we have another ball tournament this weekend. Hence a bit risky if only there for a few hours port stop. Best enjoyed if you stay in SJ. Also try Palomino Island. It used to be the private island to El Conquistador Ritz Carlton, but many private boats did go there. It is a piece of paradise. Don't know what has become of it now. Some years back, we stayed in PR a few days before boadring the Summit for her repo to NJ. Captain Kate was heading it. SJ had fire works in honor of the ship at sailaway. HBE4 Posted June 17, 2022 #60944 Share Posted June 17, 2022 (edited) 1 hour ago, Ocean Boy said: How did you go about getting there from San Juan? We did a 3 day pre-cruise stay in (new) San Juan. We booked thru a tour group that included shuttle pick-up at our hotel, a 1 1/2 hour bus ride each way to the ferry port, 30 or 40 minute ferry ride to the island, light dinner & watered down rum punch, followed be another 10-15 bus trip thru the jungle to bay. Electric motor boat took us out for about 60-75 minutes to dive & swim in the water. It was supposed to be only one hour but the captain lingered a bit longer cause he seemed to like our group. Even watching the boats wake light up was magical. Pictures and videos do not do it justice. It also helped that it was a moonless night so it made the experience extra impressive. Now, some may ask was the almost 5 hours of round trip travel time worth the 60-75 minutes spent in the water. For a once in a lifetime experience, absolutely!! There are only 5 Bio-Bays in the world and 3 of them are in Puerto Rico. It also helped that we met a great group of people on the shuttle so we chatted the time away. It went by quickly. This was back in 2009 or 2010 so I doubt I any paperwork or e-mail from the tour operator. But I'll take a look. Back then, I think it was easily $100-$125 pp + tips. We stayed at the El Conquistador resort on the Far East end of PR back in 1999, I believe. We could see Vieques from the cliffs at the resort. I think there is a very inexpensive ferry that goes there from Ceiba. Which was about 15 to 20 miles south of the resort we stayed at. We may have eaten dinner there one night driving down. I know that it is near the bioluminescent bay. It didn’t have much appeal to me as a place to visit because it had been a place where American planes practiced bombing. Lots of potential dangers existed, if my memory serves. jc
